Chitraji,

From my experience Singhs are normally very cordial and friendly people, and they also have a fantastic sense of humour.

But out of curiosity 😉 at what age did you take up classical singing and who was your Guru? Are you a surali Bengali or a divine singer from the south?😊

Chitraji, Our Reemji is too talented. I think she can play a lot more instruments but is too modest to tell us. She has a sound knowledge of all the past singers too. Good thing that she is on our side, or else very hard to argue with her.... 😆
Just joking Reemji. Have a good day. 😆

Good Morning All, I am still here (app ke aas paas) Me little late...due to time zone difference. Thanks for sharing all your information. Reema salute to you and your talent. You seems to be quite dedicated, although we have not listen to your sitar performance in the Live concert (we believe you). I will introduce my self little later.
You guys seems to be highly dedicated HRs Chelis. …J

Coming back to the original point…You were comparing Sonu v/s Aneek in "Tumko Paya Hai To" song from Om-Shanti-Om. But sorry to say, Aneek is not even close to what Sonu has recorded. If you guys listen carefully, the FEEL of the entire song is missing. It may be possible due to Studio – Stage situation. Moreover, Sonu is double the age and far more experienced than Aneek. So there is no comparison. Yes…Aneek did a remarkable job in the given situation for the song….VERY TRUE. He is very good artist and singer "for sure". Is he better then Raja ?……hhhhmmmmmmmm "NO".

In the little champs intro, Sonu presented this song with little different style…Aur wo to Shakal–Akal se bahut Garam Hai….Tumhe Kahan se Thunda Lag gaya.
I know Sonu since my childhood….so no worries….He is THE BEST.

Sorry for hopping in but I found Aneek's version is sweeter and also have little extra variation than sonu-version. Little extra because aneek was singing a song which was already recorded and he could put a little extra variations of his own. I am sure in live programs sonu will also come up with his own variations. But comparing those two links I liked aneek's version more.
Now the voice, of course sonu's maturity is better. But let us give aneek some time, he is only 18. His voice will become stronger within 2-3 years.

oftopic [Right now I am listing one of sonu's old album's PHIRAFI. I don't know if anybody have listened to it. It is my fav album from the past 10 years. What a wonderful singer sonu is. I know Md. Rafi had won a filmfare for "nache man mora" but I liked sonu's version here for its super clear sound quality and of course sonu's extra variations. If anybody have not listened to it, give it a try. Highly recommended.]

Mr. Singh Saab, if you say Sonu is the best I will agree with you and I have no favourites and love them all. Sonu is an established brand name, and I am sure he did not reach there by accident.

But I enjoy Aneek's singing and next of course is my favourite Amanat who is unbeatable in Sentimental numbers. The truth is I love Amanat's "hungama" even better than Ghulam Ali too. May be I am biased, but we should stick to what we like. A mother thinks that her own child is the best singer and no amount of argument can change the mother's mind.

When I listened to Sonu sing, there was no "feeling" and he did it so mechanically as if performing just another chore. May be this indifferent attitude is good for certain songs.

Raja is good but his voice has no "metash" or "sweetness." He has a lot of "bhava" though and also energy.

But one man's meat is another man's poison. It is pointless to argue till the cows come home because we all have preconceived ideas which we are going to carry to our graves.😉

Chitraji I think I need to talk to either your father or your Guru Himeshji. Looks like you have been neglecting your singing lessons. You should follow the fine example of our Rabindranath Tagore, the modern saint of Bengal. Even the name itself evokes a lot of reverence and respect. He also had a tremendous memory for people and faces just like Gandiji. I suggest you go on a pilgrimage soon.😆
