I have also heard that singers used to go to ponds or rivers and do riyaz standing in the cold water..

Anu,good suggestion.... but in US, if you wake up at 4 or 5 and start gala kholke riyaaz, then your neighbours will call 911 for disturbing the peace in the neighbourhood !😭

And as far as going to the ponds or rivers is concerned...I doubt very much if Ashishda has one such near his home..I was imagining my city.. it will be quite a drive to reach there, ha swimming pool hain aaju baaju mein but that does not open until much later... and the worst part is...if he still manages to go to a lake, in winter with a temperature at subzero...if he opens his gala ekbaar, rest assured it will gets closed for more than a week due to sore throat in absolutely no time.If someone finds him standing alone and singing, yaar again 911 will be called 😆 and explaing Kharaj sadhna to them is like banging head into the wall.....😆

Ashishda... is that the right scenario at your place...?😆

Aare baat baat par...songs dedicate karo unhe aur woh bhi unke favorite songs ....khushi se khil uthegi bhabhiji...😆

BTW, I know riyaaz would help a great deal. To let all of you in on a secret, I have never had any formal training at all. One of my friends who has had 19 yrs. of training in classical music has offered free sessions to a bunch of us. Going to finally start getting some formal training.

All the very best... You will surely do very well.👏

Barnali, Thanks for requesting feedback from Samar Majumdar ji! I am happy to know that in his view I was able to do justice to classical songs inspite of not being in touch with classical singing for almost 20yrs now 😳, except for singing film songs at some rare occassions. It was also nice to hear 2 of his songs.

Adi - Not sure about pursuing classical singing(at this age) 😆 , but now sure am planning to start teaching my daughters! Usi bahane mera bhi kharaj riyaz ho jayega 😛 I have a small pond in my community. I will take them there early in the morning and make them sing (Shankarabharnam movie style) 😆

Ashish - Great! Don't miss the opportunity to get training from your friend! Riyaz will definately help in bringing out khula awaj and more stable notes. I already see you as the winner of this contest! 😊 good luck!

Is bathroom singing allowed without 911 inteference? Then all the point Anu gave can be done. Atleast tried to be done. Kyu Ashish??? 😆

agree 100% that guruji's comments are bang on. Barnali ji, thanks for enlisting his services. He has detected the plusses and minuses in everybody so well. Khulke gaana, I agree. Yaar, kya kare. Some just have that khula awaaz (Kishore, Udit) and some don't (Kumar Sanu, myself :-)). I do make a concerted effort these days to try and sing more khula. Bhabhiji pe abhi aur music daala to ghar ke baahar kar degi. She feels I devote too much time to it anyway.

😆Please don't compare yourself with Kumar Sanu! 😆😆😆 You can teach him a thing or two.

After silence, that which comes nearest to expressing the inexpressible is music.

This words are for india use..coz in other countries the next thing after silence is 911
