After reading Vishal Dadlani's response in 'We're original, okay!'(October 5) to our story that their song Main agar kahoon (Om Shanti Om) was inspired by the theme of Wong Kar Wai's In the Mood for Love (October 4), HiTLIST reader Rushil Mehta wrote in to say this:

"Mr Dadlani says they always compose original tunes. However, their previous music direction consists of Bluffmaster! in which the playback theme is a total lift from an English piece.

And their latest venture, Cash, has its title track out-and-out lifted from Pump It from The Black Eyed Peas. I would challenge Mr Dadlani to prove me wrong for this musical theft. These are merely two instances that came to my mind."

i even wrote bout it in the srgmp forumm..
buttt one really doesnt count

The Cash's song is so much like Black Eyed Peas, the starting that is. 😊

No one is original, period.

Everybody is simply composing using srgmp , can anybody be original by not using these itself ?

No one in the industry is original whether it's music or script or voice😛.

Black Eyed Peas used the melody of Ye Mera Dil for Don't Mess With My Heart w/o any royalties paid. Listen to the beginning and it is really obvious. Not a musician but it is pretty obvious. Who knows if VS payed royalties or not to use that part? Even if what the article alleges is true, VS are still more original than the Pritams, Anu Maliks, Sajid Wajids, etc. of the music composers. But being Mid-Day and how inaccurate they have been in the past, I am pretty sure they are digging for gossip when it is not even there.
