Javed Akhtar & Vishal Dadlani

Ajab si behaviour

Javed Akhtar did not attend the music release event of Om Shanti Om. Is he miffed with music composer Vishal Dadlani for rewriting the 'Ajab si' number?

Javed Akhtar seems to be annoyed with music director duo Vishal-Shekhar for not using one of his songs in Om Shanti Om, and instead going ahead with lyrics written by Vishal Dadlani. So miffed is Javed that he did not attend the music release event of the film despite being present at the same hotel that evening.

The bone of contention between the two is the 'Ajab si' number from Om Shanti Om.

Javed Akhtar says, "It is not as if I am unhappy. I am aware that the song is being done by Vishal, but I did not attend the music release because I had some problem with my shoulder. Yes, I was in the same hotel for another meeting, but then I was in a lot of pain and had to leave."

Vishal Dadlani hums a different tune, saying, "Javedsaab was so kind to let me do the song and I don't think he is unhappy or has any complaints. We share a cordial and he has not said anything to me. I have no idea why he did not come to the event, or if he is unhappy about it. As far as we are concerned, there is no problem at all."

I read somewhere that Himesh had big problems with Javed saab during making of Namaste London. So I guess love and hate relationship among Music directors and lyricists are common.

But did Javed Saab really write dard-e-disco, san francisko and mahine ke chabbis ko?

Possible - this seems to be a spoof on the 70s disco numbers.

lol javed sahab is quite clever with his usage of words whenever he speaks.. im sure if he truly had a problem with vishal, he would have sarcastically talked bout it. im sure there is nothing wrong..
