secondly, in challenge 2007. poonam is more better female singer than any other girl. so she deserve to b in finals but however i dont find her voice with ne similariteis with himani.both are best in their ways n poonam voice is husky? its something new for me.

👏 nihira is far ahead of sumedha

Nice observation.

Accoing to me Sumedha is not as good as Nihira, and the best female singer is Poonam even though she is not as sweet as Sumedha, she is perfect with her sur etc etc..

Challenge 2007 is "International." I think even Zee realizes they will look too bad if they start pitting regions against each other overtly, as this is not just a matter of regions but nationality. Instead, srgmp team has embraced world peace and co-exsistence and love through the power of music..So far, anyway. This year mentor(s) have yet to give too many objections and angry speeches and endless pleas regarding regional voting the way they did in Challenge 2005. Regional mentions are brief and done all with smiles, no fighting thusfar. I do not feel too much emphasis has been placed on which votes are coming from where. That may change. Nor do we have Aditya hyping up the regional thing to the same extent that Shaan did with all the nicknames and introductions like "hot and handsome hyderabadi." This may also change, who knows.

Ok, well there was that episode after Independence day theme, with three contestants from Pakistan at the bottom, but overall that has not been main controversy. Zee does get mileage out of the regional/public voting tensions, but it is more indirect than mentors themselves bringing controversy.

What is happening here is that Himesh's problem with regional voting has morphed into Himesh's problem with contestants not singing in the genre that suits them best. He has taken an anti-versatility stance this year. It is same tactic, he is just using different words. Raja = Debojit, because they are both HR's scapegoat, he mentors/bashes them in the same style - he chastises them. Last time Himesh said Debojit could not sing and was getting sympathy vote for his life story and from his fanbase in Assam. This time Himesh thinks Raja can only sing in one genre, is giving bad performance and escaping elimination through sympathy vote and fanbase based on earlier performance and being "good person" blah blah sympathy story.

Why are you all comparing between Nihira and Sumedha. I never said that Sumedha was better or Nihira was better. I feel that they were the best female contestants of each season. You all are more than welcome to disagree. During C2005 lot of our members thought that Himani was better than Nihira. And that's fine. Its their personal opinion.

Coming to Raja's consistancy. He is highly inconsistant. Initially he was in Eklavya gharana. Came to the contest and gave some brilliant performances and then got eliminated for some bad performances. Again came back with a bang and gave outstanding performances for few weeks, but for the last three weeks he is quite bad. This week either Raja or Poonam should have been eliminated in an ideal world.

People of Rajasthan is equally crazy as the people of W.B. and entire northeast when it comes to crazy voting. Didn't Rajasthan make Sandeep Acharya the winner of II2, although Karunya was the favorite.

Himesh knows Raja has now a worldwide fan base who likes his voice and singing.

In case of Debojit it was mostly Assam and Bengal voting for him.

Raja is all together different.

I am not talking singing capabilities necessarily. I am saying in terms of Raja's "role" in HR/Zee drama, Raja = Debojit.
HR is not exactly dumb, he is a clever shyster.

He says 'Raja, you have not sung well last week. Mussarat sang better than you. But, because of your fan following, you are in. Raja, please sing better and do not let a singer who sang better than you get eliminated again. Viewers, Raja did not sing well today, but please vote for Raja, he is a good singer/person.'

HR is trying to give viewers/voters the impression that Raja is only getting sympathy/sentimental votes - that Raja has not stayed in the competition because he is performing well.

The day Raja was eliminated his performances tere bin and Piya re Piya re were both awesome! ..In an ideal world Sumedha should have gone before some other contetants.....and Karunya was from South where viewership of Hindi channels is very low and hence he lost ...basically he had no fan base...

In an ideal world...Raja would not have to face the flak of not being versatile...all the time.....

In an ideal world the uniqueness of his voice would have been hailed and not made to look like his kamjori

In an ideal situtaion we would not have had seen HR do a hook-line-and-sinker to one average performance by Raja.

And as for Raja getting regional votes....whenever he has given his best he has topped....when he did just good...he slipped...

Does that pattern not say otherwise....??
