I agree with you, if we take example of this forum there is hardly any Raja supporter belong to Rajasthan...
Challenge 2007 is "International." I think even Zee realizes they will look too bad if they start pitting regions against each other overtly, as this is not just a matter of regions but nationality. Instead, srgmp team has embraced world peace and co-exsistence and love through the power of music..So far, anyway. This year mentor(s) have yet to give too many objections and angry speeches and endless pleas regarding regional voting the way they did in Challenge 2005. Regional mentions are brief and done all with smiles, no fighting thusfar. I do not feel too much emphasis has been placed on which votes are coming from where. That may change. Nor do we have Aditya hyping up the regional thing to the same extent that Shaan did with all the nicknames and introductions like "hot and handsome hyderabadi." This may also change, who knows.
Ok, well there was that episode after Independence day theme, with three contestants from Pakistan at the bottom, but overall that has not been main controversy. Zee does get mileage out of the regional/public voting tensions, but it is more indirect than mentors themselves bringing controversy.
What is happening here is that Himesh's problem with regional voting has morphed into Himesh's problem with contestants not singing in the genre that suits them best. He has taken an anti-versatility stance this year. It is same tactic, he is just using different words. Raja = Debojit, because they are both HR's scapegoat, he mentors/bashes them in the same style - he chastises them. Last time Himesh said Debojit could not sing and was getting sympathy vote for his life story and from his fanbase in Assam. This time Himesh thinks Raja can only sing in one genre, is giving bad performance and escaping elimination through sympathy vote and fanbase based on earlier performance and being "good person" blah blah sympathy story.
