He probably does not understand that the "shit will hit the fan" and spread all around after his interview, and some hardcore SRGMP and II fans will never watch that clown show again.

I used to like Shaan so much, now he is Himmy 2.

Honestly speaking in this series I was pleasantly surprised to see a dignified subdued Himmy and was quite impressed till he went berserk on Raja and that love story and maa story thing.

But kaha, he was simply bidding his time. SRGMP show has given us a complete package and it was enjoyable until recently...hopefully things will improve.

Seriously never had I imagined Shaan taking potshots and that too when 4 fingers were pointing towards him and GS.

Oh Boy, I missed most of it. I was there initially. Did not realize it went on for 56 hours.

Adi:

I am going to II3. 😆

I came back too. II3 forum is boring. No one really blasted him, because they know that Shaan is correct about II3.

Its unbelievable what these people can resort to for publicity.

I've always respected Shaan.. as a singer.. and even more so as a human being. He has always presented himself in a dignified manner. All his interviews showed how humble, polite, and modest he was. Now.. I can't decide whether this interview is the real him or if an attempt to garner TRPs has caused him to stoop so low.

No matter how awful II3 singers are.. who is he to pass his judgement? II3 constestants are also trying as hard as the ones on both sa re ga ma's. And it is the public that chose them..they have every right to be there. I don't think he should say crap like this to the media.. which could end up hurting their careers.

And his comment that sa re ga ma pa singers aren't versatile.. and can only sing in the sufi genre.. I don't even know what to say. Mussarat was the only one who sang sufi type songs. Since when is Sumedha's Jaadu hai nasha hai, Poonam's dil to pagal hai, Mauli's Namak ishq ka, Raja's garam masala song, Aneek's Mahi Ve (you get the point).. considered Sufi? I'm no singer or musician but from what i've seen on this show.. i know these singers will succeed in the music industry if given a chance.

I've only seen 1 episode of the star one show.. so I can't really comment on the singers he was talking about. But whatever I saw.. made me appreciate the quality of the contestants in sa re ga ma pa much much more.

I just hope these people spare the poor contestants in this whole TRP drama.

I don't understand how people on this forums completely lose respect for someone based on ONE action. Yes, I am shocked at Shaan's statements too, and I believe that he should not have taken part in this publicity gimmick, but discrediting his talent as a host? That's just ridiculous. He was always a wonderful, energetic and ever smiling host...and that's still what he is for me.

Now about him as a person...since I have met him, let me share something. About ten other people and I stood in a hotel lobby for over an hour talking to him and his family. He knew that people were coming to see him, yet he was dressed very casually and spoke very respectfully to everyone. In fact, he created such a pleasant atmosphere, that no one felt the need to try to get his attention. He just walked around and talked to everyone. This is the Shaan that I know.

Besides that, I have also read most of his interviews, seen him perform several times and watched his behavior at award functions. Never once did I feel that he was an arrogant person, or even acted like a big star.

Due to the image I have of him in my mind, it really bothers me that anyone would compare him to Himesh, who has demonstrated that he is nothing but a nautanki. It kind of reminds me of what happened on the Indian Idol forums when everyone started bashing Javed sahib for one comment, even though he had always been the fairest and best judge.

Anyway, if you want to continue bashing Shaan, that's cool with me. I just wanted to get my opinion out there. Just to make it clear, I'm not defending his interview, which was apalling and certainly not what I expect of Shaan.

Suhana, all the people who are upset with Shaan here are actually ones who like him or love him! It's just that they are so disappointed to know that someone whom they so admired could be so thoughtless and partial in forming judgements. Don't worry, no one believes he is another HR 😃

I completely agree with you, he is a very nice person, very mild. I still remember his speech when he got the filmfare award for "Shubhanallah", he told that the whole credit goes to Jatin-Lalit, because they believed in him and he somehow could manage to sing the song, although it was not perfect. He is a nice host and a booster for the contestants. I am also not in agreement with many of his answers in this interview (if the journalist is putting whatever he meant or wanted to say), srgmp has great voice in amanat, raja and poonam and aneek, II 3 has Amit (a great voice, although he is amature, but Udit Narayan, Shaan everyone was amature when they first came to limelight), in SVOI abbas, Abhilasa, Harshit are very good. Of course in nautanki, srgmp is at the top.
