Another point would bw having residence near Darjeeling, I always knew amaging singing talent of the Nepalese. Most of them are very good singers. Hopefully Prashant's association with II3 will bring similar craze from the hills.

Every region has contibuted to the music world of Bollywood through decades, If you look at the music industry there are people from different regions who have made it.

We have had numerous discussions dissecting contributions of different regions, however when it comes to talent hunt, it is generally only one region that dominates.

You can look at it two ways

contestants are excellent just like some others like Nihira or Karunya or Vinit, The contestants certainly have no blemish

however viewers cannot take the fact out of their minds that the last name is a chatterjee or bannerjee or bose or whatever and they vote accordingly no matter the contestant has lived in Canada their whole life or in Mumbai or in Kota, the voting goes by the last name😉 One success draws another, the pride becomes proud, hence the pattern continues and in justification you get how each home has a harmonium😛

Contestants certainly dont have blemish, they are all applause worthy👏👏👏 but ....

It is always good to look at contestants as Indians and only Indians, bringing a region into it makes it a messy thing

Jadoobhai bola tha muah mut khulwayiyee😆

Saregbhai, No one is bringing region in here or nor it was intended. If i remember correctly that despite being a Bengali, debojit only got 2% vote from Calcutta, you can check yourself in this forum only. There are specific reasons that he got so much vote from the north eastern states. I think that discussion would be more socio-political and I do not know if it would be right to discuss here. (If you want to know I can send a personal mail to you.)

All I meant that Debojit's run created a lot of hype for musical talent shows in the north eastern states. Now I am pretty hopeful that after Prasant we will get mind blowing Nepalese singer.

Some surnames are not exclusive to only bengalis they are common e.g Datta, Chakrabarty , Bhattacharya , Das etc.

I think in II3 Padmanav is still not out of the race.

We have seen many contestants from south in spite of auditions not being held here (Abhishek,Irfan,Sumithra, Hemachandra,Karunya..).

Good observation and if you pool all the three shows - It clearly shows maximum poeple from East !!
