Interesting! But I think Kishore was not suited for Naushad's compositions. He was too full of masti and mischief. I will always like his masti songs more than the sad ones.

Strange... but those were the days when every MD has his Coterie of artistes which whom they worked... What would have happened that the two legends worked together would remain a mystery always.

Sahana, while Kishore Kumars masti bhara songs are fantastic, his sad or emotional songs have been better... at least to me 😳

Agree with Priya. In my top 10 of KK, most would be sad/emotional. Kishoreda himself used to rank his sad ones above his masti bhare ones.

In sad and emotional songs, my favourites would always be Rafi and Talat. 😊

When I hear the contestants singing Kishore's songs, I start missing Kishore intensely. No one has that rich bass which he had. He could easily have been an opera singer if he wanted, such was the power in his voice. The masti that he brought into songs was just inimitable!

I love all three of them and if I ever sat to think which would rank higher, I know I would flounder... the loneliness in Koi hota jisko apna, the loneliness in Din dhaal jaaye, raat na jaaye... and a similar emotion in Jaaye toh Jaaye kahan are all unique...

I love all of them... its just my heart which yearns for Kishore Kumar a lil more than others... my head which points out all of Rafi Saab's songs... my ear which picks out Talat Mehmood as the silkiest voice ever...

Not true. Dada Burman is one composer, I would say, who used KK and Rafi equally well. In most of Dev Anand's early movies Dada had Rafi sing exclusively for Dev Anand -- Kala Pani, Tere Ghar Ke Samane, Bambai Ka Baboo, Kala Bazar -- to name a few. Then there are other movies where Dada used both KK and Rafi for Dev in the same movie-- Teen Deviyan, Guide. And there were so many other movies where Dada used only Rafi and not Kishore -- like Meri Surat Teri Ankhe, Kagaz Ke Phool.

Dada is one of the very few composers who has used all the leading singers of his era equally well.. be it Lata, Asha, Mukesh, Talat, Rafi, Manna Dey or Kishore.

Not true fully. There was a long period of about 8 years when Dada and Lata had a fall out (1955-1963). In that period Dada used Asha-Geeta exclusively to give so many superhits without a single song from Lata -- Paying Guest, Nau Do Gyarah, Kala Pani, Chalati Ka Naam Gadi and so many others. Dada never felt the need to patch up with Lata as he proved that superhit music can be given without Lata. It was on RDB's strong insistence that Dada patched up with Lata since RDB wanted Lata to sing a song for him. Tere Ghar Samane marked the return of Lata to Dada camp where Lata sang one solo (yeh tanhai hiye re hiye) and 2 duets (ek ghar banaunga tere ghar ke samane and dekho rutha na karo) -- all of which became instant hits.
