Bush - Has suffered from a gross lack of education and intellectual development, and is now being made to head a country that has lost its head. God help!

Saddam - Fancied he had the brawn, but forgot that brawn without brains [strategic planning and acting] only leads to a sad conclusion. And it did....Also didn't realize the art of diplomacy in international affairs and foreign policy

There, I think I have sufficiently done mitti oochalo-ing on all of 'em 😛

If I saw Ravan, I'd introduce him to hair-stylist / designer. I'm sure there's lots for creativity with not 1, but 10 heads there (or was it 100?) We would be able to try out funky hair styles on our friend, without having to do it virtually through photoshop!

If I saw Osama, I'd give him a new set of clothes, some soap and perfume for starters. Poor guy, he has always been sighted with the same set of grimy robes and turban. I'm sure by now, even his lackeys would be walking around with a cloth stuffed to their nose!

And while I'm at it, I think I will also give old Ossie, a blueprint of the parliament house in Delhi and the various legislative assemblies of the states. I will subtly drop a hint that he might want to consider target practicing there! Would also help clear the muck in our country. Of course I wouldn't let him know that he will be involved in a grand, social mission!

Bush? For starters, I will gift this guy an atlas AND a globe. Poor chap. He has no clue even beyond Texas... and now perhaps the state of New York. And it might not be a bad idea to also give him a crash course in the language of the humans, as against that of the primates. The first will be the English language, where I shall have to enlighten him about the difference between 'nuclear' and the primate-like 'noo-cular'!

As for Saddam... they say two evils can make one good. So, I will have to take him with me to the Landmark Forum. Either both will get destroyed, or both will be set right. Either way, we stand to gain.

Thanks Manju-ji 😊😳

The determination bit is what keeps most of us from sinking right into the depths of despair. And from the little I know of you, I can see you have not just determination, but also courage! Kudos to you!!

Mother - Is not just all about loving and giving (which is important), but also censuring, chiding and definitely NOT sparing the rod. At the same time, being a firm support and a friend. It should be someone, who is always sunny, spirited and courageous. These qualities are important, because a mother, who is weak, meek and submissive will influence her children negatively. There will be insecurity and fear in the kids. Also important is for the mother to let her children learn to be independent and yet interdependent.

What I can do for my mom? Give her all the love, care and fun-filled life that she has helped my sis and I to have.

Father - Shouldn't be just a stereotypical strict disciplinarian, but a loving confidante. He plays a major role in dispelling some of the usual stereotypes of the male in India's patriarchal society. He should be a firm support to his wife and stand by her come what may. AND he should also help out with household chores - cooking, cleaning, child-caring, pet-caring, etc etc. This way, the male offsprings don't grow up thinking that these are wimpy tasks meant only for women.

What I can do for my dad? I'd love to help him use his talents and expertise, even after retirement. That way he doesn't end up feeling bored or tied to the house and still has a zest for living! I would want to give him a fulfilling life, just like he has helped me to have one

Brother - Shouldn't be too involved in his own personal activities, but also be there for his sis and understand her needs. Love should be demonstrated in better ways than pulling his sis's hair, ribbon, messing up her study table and various other puerile activities!

What I can do for a brother? I don't have one. But, if I did, I'd let him know that I am there to help him out too and that this is not just a one-way traffic.

Sister - Actually everything that my own sis has done for me! Love, help, support, guidance and yet give that freedom, which will allow the younger sibling to develop on her own.

What I would do for my sister? Everything! Absolutely everything and anything for my sis. Short of murder! She just has to say it and it shall be done.

Son and daughter - After the age of 10, one's offspring becomes one's friend. At least that's how my mom treated my sis and I. We were (and still are) like friends. That allows a lot of trust to be placed in each other and leads to a well developed personality later on life. The children, who seek their mother's support early in life, should be ready to give that later on! No taking for granted of each other there.

What can I do for a son / daughter? Will let you know when I have one. But, I can assure you, I shall inculcate in them a love for our rich Indian tradition and heritage, before they go on to discover the rest. That way they will be able to love and yet critically assess their own culture, without getting carried away or discarding it.

Well, actually Manju-ji had asked me something similar on page 4 or so. And I have put down a list of 13 people. Didn't get beyond that 😕 I had listed most of the dev team members, some mentors and some members 😉 It had T, T.Bhaskar, Jaya, Barnali, Adi, Manju-ji, Punjini, Chatbuster, Aparna and few more!
