Just a brief clarification on this:

For this song in particular, Alka herself starts on a very high scale and even goes shrill in places (which Mamta has avoided as much as possible). She also has the advantage of musical accompaniment/studio editing - that can make a real difference to the listener.

Cant agree more with u Tanaz. but it is this very factor ~*in blue*~ that these contestants will hav to keep in mind. because they dont hav this advantage they now need to adjust their pitch and scale accordingly. Its same like - in some songs the gap between two line may be more but due to musical accompaniment we dnt feel it. but here when they are singing it without any background score they need to adjust that gap. else the song will loose the continuity.

It is these small adjustments that they will need to make while singing here. reason is the same they dnt hav background score to support them.
