Questions for all Alaap Contestants...

1. Which round has been the most difficult for you ? Beyond 2000
2. If you were not in Alaap Gharana, then which one would you want to be in ? Jhankaar
3. What is something that you like the most about your Gharana ? Sahana!
4. Have you taken classical training ? If so, for how long and are you continuing it ? I'm taking it now..I'm going to continue it for as long as I can..hopefully for the next 2 years..after that I'm going to university..so it'll be hard to continue

More later 😃 Can't wait until Bandish..!! 😉 Thanks for the questions

Jaya this is a great topic 👏👏

Please can someone explain me the difference between fast round and groovy round. I don't see any difference in them 😕 I am pretty confused.

Sahana , I am really overwhelmed with your response regarding my singing. 😃
I just hope that I am able to perform well in the upcoming rounds 😆
Classical song, For now, you can listen to my audition song Kuhu Kuhu 😊

I think there is a definite difference between a fast number and a groovy number... remember groovy essentially means something cool or hip... so even a slow number can be very groovy... Again we are focussing only on Pancham and Rehman in the round as they are the masters of groovy numbers, I guess... Examples of slow groovy numbers could be Pancham's 'Chura liya hai tumne jo dil ko' or Rehman's 'Saathiya Saathiya'... I hope, I am a little more clear now. Others - please correct me if I am wrong...😊

Yeah that makes sense. Dictionary does say groovy as excellent (good, cool).
I actually forgot that the round says RD or ARR songs only. Thankyou so much Jaya 😊

Ok few questions from me:

Can you concentrate on other things when you are listening to music?

Can you read music?

Do you like to listen classical music? Fav Singer?

Do you like to listen country music?Fav Singer?

Have you ever taken part in any other singing competition?

What is one of your favorite songs?

Why do you like it?

When did you first hear it?

Who sings it?

What kind of music do you listen to to cheer you up?

Why do you think music is important and how does it affect different people?

Do you think music can heal sick people?

Do you think the use of drugs by some musicians increases their artistic creativity?

If you could invent a new instrument, what would it sound like?

No..never..I always get lost in the song..and start daydreaming!

Can you read music?

No, unfortunately

Do you like to listen classical music? Fav Singer?

Yes, very much. I dont have a favourite as such..but I really like Shubha Mudgul.

Do you like to listen country music?Fav Singer?

haha no...country is not really my thing!

Have you ever taken part in any other singing competition?

No

What is one of your favorite songs?

Tere Bina from Guru

Why do you like it?

Because it's an AR Rehman composition! I like the sargam in it..I just like everything about it!

When did you first hear it?

When I went to America in December. My cousin was playing it in his car.

Who sings it?

AR Rehman, Chinmayi

What kind of music do you listen to to cheer you up?

Fast, upbeat, catchy. I always listen to Oh Re Kanchi from Asoka when I'm down!

Why do you think music is important and how does it affect different people?

Music is something which without, the world wouldn't exist. I cant say much more than that.

Do you think music can heal sick people?

Yes..definitely! Music is life within itself!

Do you think the use of drugs by some musicians increases their artistic creativity?

I don't know...I think it can...but I cant justify why I think so

If you could invent a new instrument, what would it sound like?

Haha...good question..when I invent it..you'll hear for yourself!

Thanks for the questions..I enjoyed answering them 😊
