I know some of the good films these mentors have given music for. I am compiling a list of the films they have given music for. But could someone update the list to make it a complete one?

(Inimitable) Ismail Darbar:

Is that what Shaan calls them, Musical Moughal, Awesome, evegreen and Inimitable? Going by the list Jatin Lalit has more hits and Himmesh Resammiya has given music for many films, but not many we know about even!!! % wise Ismail has more hits than anyone (may be because he has not given music in too many movies yet). Looks like creativity also has a limit and law of diminishing effect starts catching them! That is why I rate RDB, ARR and LP as all time best music directors in Hindi movies. What do you guys say?

About Lagi Tumse Lagan:

First of all I can't believe that Anu Malik has given such a good music for this song! Secondly Nusrat's younger brother (or son?) has sung it so well. First time when I heard this song in someone's car, I stopped talking to him and kept on repeating it for nearly 5 times until we reached home. Then I burnt a CD or myself and must have played 100 time! I am trying to collect some more such songs. Please suggest if some one can help me with that.

I am not an expert on classicals but is that sa-re-ga etc. rendered in the song called Aalaap or Bandish? I remember another one close to this song was Laga Chunari pe daag (Manna Dey, Dil Hi To Hai) and Khna Hi Kya (Bombay where ARR has got some Alaap).

Sharib Saabri is from Sabri Gharana (famous Saabri brothers) and he has to have that kind of "gala" in his blood! What a performance!!!! I know I come down heavily on Irfan but that day when he and Sharib, both were rated equal, it was not only n insult to Sharib but the sangeet as well! As it will appear soon that if not the best, it will remain one of the best ever song sung by anyone on a stage show in Indian TV, how can Irafan be rated equal that day with him? It was amazing to see this 17 year old's control (mind you he was having a sore throat that day and he was complaining that he can't go to higher scale, so he could sing that even better when he is completely OK, by starting the song from few notches up in the scale!)! Like many others I have also recorded all the episodes and one of the songs I play invariably is Lagi Tumse by Sharib!

If some one could convey my thanks to him or singing so well, please do so! Hats off to his talent. It is immaterial whether he wins the competition or not but as Himmesh summed up very well that day" Of all the participants in the competion..only thing I could say about Sharib, that Lagi tumse man ki lagan..", very well said Himmesh, I say the same!!

Wow.. That was an impressive list.

Among the four, JL has the best record and the most hits as you pointed out. I think HR is here to stay, although his music is not earth shaking. ID is one of those music directors who can compose only for a few projects at a time - not necessarily a bad thing. AS is waiting for that elusive hit to propel him to the A level.

IMO, I would rate LP as the best. Their music has spanned decades and they have been on top for a long time. RDB comes a close second. ARR is defintely one of the best. Among the newer crop I'm an unabashed fan of Anu Malik. For every inspired song he has given a solid song...

Iwonder how far Vishal-Sekhar and Pritam will go...

About the mentors :
"Dashing Duo" Jatin - Lalit are seniormost and have proved their mettle. Jo Jeeta Woh Sikandar, Diwali Dulhaniya Le Jayenge, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai are probably their best work. DDLJ and KKHH especially are super duper hits with their songs being one of the main reasons for their success. and I can NEVER tire of the song "Pehla Nasha, Pehla Khumar" from JJWS. Also worth mentioniong is their work in Khamoshi - great music , great songs in that movie. They started their film carrer with Yaara Dildaara in 1991 so they have stood the test of time...
👏
Ismail Darbar is just about 5-6 years old in the industry. His Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam was AMAZING. A good job in Devdas also but in Kisna many of the songs are from AR Rehman too. This music is good(not excellent) but from what I have seen, his range seems to be limited. Most of his better songs have classical base but i am not sure if he can give peppy numbers which are required in todays films.
👏 👏
"Happening" Himmesh Resammiya: I am not very familiar with his work but it looks as if he is pertty good in giving fast catchy numbers which may not have everlasting value but soar up in the music charts until another such number comes along. case in point are these songs- "Dilli Ki Sardi", "Just Chill Chill". From the list it looks like Himesh has more quantity than quality in his work.
👏
"Awesome" Aadesh Srivastava: Seems to be the weakest of the 4 mentors . I dont recall any song of his and it doesnt seem that he has done any path breaking work so far. Also, the music of many of his films has been shared by other composers too, especially Jatin-Lalit. I am not sure which memorable ones he himself has scored.
😊

I am glad Hema is in, but am so sad that one of Sharib and Neeladri will be out. They were my next favourites. I just wish Debojit gets the next green card. And among the blue cards Neeladri/Sharib (whoever gets it tomorrow) comes back..I don't want Rajeev to get it. He is over hyped. Btw there are many people in the forum addressing HemaChandra as Himabindu. Himabindu is a girl's name and in fact it was his sister, who got eliminated in the earlier round.

First time the result is very much like most of us were predicting. Swananda is very good singer and so is Hemachandra. I would say that Hemachandra is ahead in race amongst boys and Swananda is close second to Nihira (or may be ahead too, depneding on how you look at).

I have a feeling that in the next round Sharib and Joyita will be out. My reason for saying so - Sharib lacks versatality, even IMHO he is one of the best as a singe but not as versatile as one is needed to be called as a playback singer! Bhimsen Joshi or Jasraj can not sing like Kishore Kumar and vice versa. They have different places for themselves and both are at the top in their respective genres. I will say Sharib has accomplished what he wanted. When he and Vishwas were tied and somehow he sneaked through, I had rated him very low but after hearing his Lagi Tumse, even if he sings 100s of bad songs, I will still consider him as a singer of different class.(a quick similar example I remember from cricket is of VVS Laxman, he might play 100s of worse innings but his one inning of 270 or so played against Australia at Calcutta will remain as one of the best innings played by any one and that puts him in a adifferent class altogether!).

Raktima is more balanced singer. Though she has some nasal sound but I think Aadesh was working on her that problem and last time she was much better, but she sings with more emotions and her throw is also much better. Joyitaa is not that "suljha hua" singer yet. she is still very raw and at this level (and with Daler and Jasraj as judge) one slip or two will be the decider! That may go against Neeladri as well, because he also inspite of being very versatile, slips from sur many times!

But I would say that tomorrow Neeladri and Raktima are going to be in.
