Well, Mathematics is a tool used by the sciences to explain things in life, or to create many things we use today. For example, when building a bridge, physics is used but within it many mathematical calculations are involved depending on how much load it should be able to take, etc. That is the direct impact of Mathematics on society.

So yes, Math impacts the Sciences, but that isn't it. Math affects every aspect of life. Every new research paper that comes out can be used for something or another, either some application in science, econ, stat, etc or it can be used to teach other students. That is the beauty of Mathematics, it is everywhere and there fore its applications are everywhere.

And another impact that Math has on society is that it produces more insane people for the world to deal with. Of course research comes along with them, but I don't know if that is a benefit or not.😆

These are really good questions Jadoo ji, and my answers are longer than usual...so I will put the other answer in a different post. You know how much I can go on about Math and women's rights. 😆

*Sorry, I wrote so much about women, that I felt Math deserved more. I love both equally. 😛

A day in the life of SDK

Lets do this organized like, to the timeline!

6:00 His mother wakes him up….she knows it will take him half an hour to actually get out of bed, so wakes him up half and hour early.

6:30 Our hero gets out of bed with something so unlike a jump, it is astounding. He drags his feet to get ready for school.

7:00 Breakfast time! Suny goes to the living room to eat—he is banned from the kitchen because he blew it up last week. Same goes for the dining room.

7:20 School bus arrives, and SDK gets on

7:30 School begins. There aren't many interesting things going on in school, considering the fact that being a math wiz, he obviously doesn't pay attention in class, and therefore probably sleeps through it.

12:00 The only important part of the school day—lunch! Being a nerd, he probably discusses the latest video game and inevitably, Battlestar Galactica.

3:30 School lets out and he gets on the bus to go home. On the way, he remembers that he has a project due the next day, so decides to go to the store and pick up materials before going home.

4:30 At the store, he single handedly manages to trip three of the workers, drop three of the displays and burn the posterboard display. 😆 Haha, I'm just kidding, he got his stuff and left.

5:30 At home, he starts to do his math hw and begins to day dream. How wonderful it would be to be a math genius…like Noopur! He imagines a day in her exquisite/amazing/every other awesome adjective life as I write this.

6:30 Suny's mum calls him for dinner and then yells at him for not finishing his hw yet again! Still, she feeds him (she has to) and then tells him to finish his hw…or no tv!

7:30 Suny finally finishes his Math hw and then works on his project. It takes him an hour to do this because of his fire making abilities (don't worry, he bought a lot of extra stuff so he didn't have too much of a problem)

8:30 He finally finishes and then decides to play video games. He has the new Wii, so he plays with this all the while relishing his awesomeness (anyone who has the Wii is bound to feel awesome, it is an understandable sentiment)

9:30 As it gets close to bed time, Suny realizes that he didn't do his English hw!! Being only good at Math, he searches for someone who can help him with the hw on IF…and finds Noopur, for she is not just a Math wiz, she is great at all aspects of life! Once again he is reminded of her superiority, and thanks her profusely.

10:00 Our hero now goes to bed, happy that he had a full day, filled with hw, games, and fire making.

* For all those who haven't read SDK's account of my life, I am not a horrible person. He wrote a lot of stuff (jokingly of course) about my being jealous of his mathematical abilities, so this is just payback, is all. Please don't take this seriously.😆
