Ya it is, each subject has its own identity. So do not compare a discipline to another.

Only one institute has full time masters course in India, its called "Institute of Science and Technology for Advanced Study and Research". this inst. is in Gujarat.

Job prospect, again its hypothetical, opportunities are there, you have to make best out of it. Its a relatively new concept for Indian scenario, but its growing. All the best
