I think Debo was not best but majority think so.....

I think Sanchita is best but many think Sameer is..... so best is very subjective term......

I think Saregama now has one and one aim only..

..to be a successful commercial show..which is popular with the masses and which can bring in $$$. The focus is not sharply on getting the bestest of the best..

To achieve the above aim, X factor plays a big part along with singing..Their focus is on who can bring in more votes..who has mass appeal ..

More than 40 lakhs votes per contestant, that is what Gajji and Zee wants.

in the dog-eat-dog biz world we have today, if the only choices were to have the sms-oriented sgmp shows or none at all, what would you choose? i think it's unreasonable to expect shareholders to ultimately foot the bill in terms of lost profit opportunities to keep a format that might not make money any more. the sms money also is a good proxy for how much money people are prepared to spend on their favorite and how good their future album sales might be. someone might be talented but if noone is ready to pay for them, then it doesn't matter. yes, old sgmp format did bring out a shreya ghoshal or two but then i'd bet she wld have won a sms-based contest as well because she has it all, singing talent, personality and stage presence.

fwiw, i dont think the problem is with the new sms format. i personally feel that neither c2005 nor emaet came up with talent anywhere close to the likes of shreya ghoshal in spite of massive amounts spent on scouting for talent in different cities. apologize here in advance to all the fans of hema, nihira, debo, vinit, himani etc but sorry that's what i feel. i dont know if that's because the emphasis in their training or riyaz has switched to the kind of short-cut new-age songs we have today that dont require great singing talent. somehow i dont feel they can do justice to the melodies that shreya or our older singers were capable of singing. so perhaps the lacking is in terms of the talent that is coming up these days, not with the show.

I wouldn't say the participants did not improve. If we watch their day 1 performance and todays performance we can see the difference especially in Sanchita and Diwakar. Sameer was better when he was mentorless.

Sanchita has improved tremendously under Alkaji's guidance. Diwakar has also shown marked improvement.

The show became a money minting farce agreed, they could have definite done without making the kids beg for votes😡 but the show also gave a platform to so many of the faceless people to come and make a mark.

Till four months back, no one knew of Sameer, or Neha, or Shraddha or Sanchita etc. Today their faces are known all over the world, they have showcased what they can, its now upto our musical industry to decide how they want to utilise this.

Every story has a plus and minus side...I guess reality shows does too.

Completely agree. Besides the money minting part and drama creatingwhich Gajji is very apt in, the show has good value.

In US reality show, the public is given a toll free no. to call and for limited time only. Here they minted money almost to the end of grand finale.

As far as the final outcome comes:

1. Gajji makes lots of money.

2. Singers get a chance to show case and improve during the show.

3. Sanchita is deserving winner, very few people dispute it. But in other cases, there is the lingering question. Specially when they are so close, it is hard to say. Regionalism, religionism, sympathy, girlfriend drama all these can play in final outcome.

4. To improve it, they should go back to old system of multiple judges as was in the case of Shreya Ghoshal.

If we compare sanchita with sunidhi. I'd say she is way better than Sunidhi. Have any of you heard sunidhi live. She is unbearable! I think sanchita has a bright future.
