Why are you people so mad at Abhijeet, at least he speaks his mind, Diwarkar did not deserve that A+ he got from Bhappi, and he spoke up, Sameer sang better than Diwarkar and got an A from Bhappi, that is to show Abhijeet that if you can give A+, I can give an A, here he penalized Sameer unjustly, what a charade!! I think that Bhappi is trying to garnish more public votes for Diwarkar, and all the heated exchanges with him and Abhijeet and Abhijeet and Diwarkar's father will rally the public more to support Diwarkar, because they see him as the victim here. This is human nature and India is a very emotional country. 😆 😆
Bhappi nahi...Bapi...Bapi Lahiri
there is no point in blaming the public. when there are several million people sending their opinions, it's quite unrealistic to assume that the voting pattern will be consistent (least in the case of singing quality alone). Religion, regionalism, sympathy and other factors will play a huge part in the voting trends. It is a given.
If public voting (or MONEY) is all that counts, then don't bring judges because probablity is very high (almost 100% from past experience) that the judges' comments would fall on deaf ears. either factor in the judges' decision along with the public's decision or release the judges completely from the contract once public voting starts. it's difficult for even a common person to see deserving candidates leave, let alone for judges who have even better understanding of the contestants.
So I am tempted to blame Gajji but a little hesitant since some high authorities might be pulling the strings.
Now something about the judges:
Some of abhijeet's comments today were uncalled for but the guy makes some valid points. at least in the beginning he was pointing out the divakar's scale factor. as a judge, I have seen both alka and abhijeet before (C2005 and EMET) and both, regardless of how harsh they were, often backed their decisions with reasonable comments. simply saying a contestant's performance was awesome(or poor) and leaving it at that hardly brings anything new to the table. a judge (even a biased one) should at least give the technical pros/cons of a contestant thereby educating the viewers (not everyone possess music knowledge) with points that would go unnoticed to the untrained ears. otherwise, what's the point of bringing a judge if only a one line compliment or criticism is enough for the job?
So with respect to what I have said above, this is my assessment of the following judges:
1. Abhijeet - Often seems to be blatantly biased towards a particular contestant and in the process becoming quite rude (directly or indirectly) to the other contestants. But he often backs his decisions with convincing points and speak out what's on his mind. seems very reasonable at times.
2. Alka- Initially I didn't like her as a judge but I think that she is the most balanced one. She fits the judges' qualities (the ones I mentioned above) the best. Most of the time, she brings out the technical strengths and weaknesses of a contestant's performance at least from what I have seen. now whether she is right or wrong is another issue and that depends on the viewer based on his/her own understanding and expertise in music.
3. Bappida - the most generous judge on the show in terms of criticisms. but unlike the other two judges, I hardly see him discussing the pros/cons of the contestant and he seems to be the quietest on there. so in this regard, I don't rate him as a very good judge.
So all three have their qualities and drawbacks and it depends on the viwers which quality of the judges they concentrate on most. abhijeet bashers would concentrate more on his emotional comments rather than his techical comments. bappida bashers will hit on his generosity in doling out A's etc. same goes with alka.
P.S. why did shaan jump into the brawl between abhijeet and bappida today? usually he avoids getting directly involved but today...
it's hilarious watching shaan in his aggressive nature
😆
