is sameer overhyped??really by whom?the kid is the youngest in the group..i didnt hear from a single person repeat not a single member in this forum saythat he should not have been in the top 5...

so what is the problem now!!? 😕

this is the bane of public voting..we take on a young 11 year old to make a point....

we are still to get over the after effects of C2005..just cant bear the thought of this forum becoming polarised all over again..

Just my POV Ankita - I think Neha should have been in the top 5 along with Abhro, Sanchita, Pawni and Shraddha. Again this is just on the basis of singing talent.

I think there may be others who think likewise. So we cannot generalise that Sameer is the approved top 5 for all. I am sure there are others who think the other way round and have their own top 5, so lets be open here to accept the different choices of people and respect them and make no generic statements.

Vinnie, I didnt want to discuss this further. but I thought I better tell what I feel.

Please tell me whats the difference in following two scenario

1) People telling sameer mediocre, overhyped, overconfidnet, mannersless, opportunist, very ordinary , with bad attitude , he gets on my nerve , he needs major makeover for his attitude etc etc .

2) People telling some people doesnt have knowledge of music.

If u think 2) is more serious then 1) - Then I am really sorry, but if u think 1) is more serious then 2) then I dont need to explain you.

If we need to respect people's different preference, how come people are not showing any respect to this 11 yr kid ?? I dont understand -

why not discuss his singing rather than other qualities of him!.

There is a shift in the tone of the discussions on the Forum. As I read the newer posts on particular participants, I wonder what our role as music lovers (who appear for the most part to be older than these children) is. Is it to discuss the music, musicality of their performances in a constructive which allows us and them to learn? Or is it to let our own competitive nature cloud our experience of their performances?

Every child at this point in the competition is gifted. And every child has something to learn (as do we all). Performances vary from day to day. Sometimes we like what they sing, sometimes we do not. We now come into each week's programme with our pre-set notions about them.

But they are only children. And we are so fortunate that they are all such gifted children. For the one hour twice a week that we hear them, they remind us of the good things in life. The innocence in their voices transforms songs we know and transports us into a very pure experience of the bhava they express. This is why we keep saying we are moved by this and that performance.

At this point, I will be sad whoever leaves and happy for whoever wins. I will be saddest if the discussions on this forum deteriorate to criticising one child in order to support the other, and all in the name of lively discussion.

It is called support for the Singer he or she likes. :) as you can see he/she did not say sameer is the best and then put down all the other kids. This is "cheering" your favourite contestant and there is nuthin wrong in that.
