Traditionally speaking - a mother's most important responsibility is to guide her kids and mould them into good humans.

Yes - they may not be as good as the mother when it comes to those particular duties, but they are capable of carrying them out when the need arises. Similarly for mothers.

Are there different expectations for sons and daughters?

No. Parents want both to do well in life, have families, kids, and a happy life. But yes, there may be differences in the way they are expected to carry the family forward or duties they are expected to undertake.

Both Mom and Dad. Dad likes cooking but not cleaning - so Mom does that. Grocery they do together.

An ideal man would be level-headed, controlled, practical, kind, intelligent, and hard-working. An ideal woman would be loving, caring, strong-willed, sensible, sweet-tongued and protective.

Most of these characteristics are hard to determine from the face of it - so it's hard to say who matches them.
