In the heyday of C2005, this forum saw so much of fracturing on regional lines, when someone even brings up a religion, I cringe , b'cos most of us did not show the maturity to handle even the regional stuff, religion is 100 times more heavy.

Or maybe it is just me who worries about these things considering it is today the 9/11.

sareg it is this very date tht we should remember and make sure tht we keep music away frm religion. music should b used to get everyone together and not divide. religious fanatism can anythng like wht happened on this day. lets make sure we stay together here through music. dnt worry tht topic has nothing tht will create problem. it is a simle discussion and i am 100% sure evryone will agree to bhaskars comments there tht music has no religion.

Totally agree. Religious fanaticism has shown what we can land up in. Check the date today, a living example.Lets keep God's and religion totally out of it. Each person has his or her own definition of this topic. When it is not this section related why bring it in..

Let us agree to disagree and let it go😉, unfortunately the date drives all this

I agree to some points raised by Simtara....

With Chat clubs, we were suddenly thrown to an open place, and even when we opened SRGMP related chat threads - some unknown people would dive in... No problem in befriending new people, but there should be some similarity of thoughts to have a healthy conversation...... In SRGMP section, most of us are bound by a common interest called 'Music'... In a open chat club, thats not the case, and hence I think, a healthy conversation will never take off....

Also agree to the Chatty and fun threads of the other sections... If other sections can run it, we surely should be allowed to do the same... I understand that we need to cut out on Hi and Bye spammers, but I believe most of us had done quite a bit of it lately after the Mods guided us... So we should be allowed atleast one fun thread every week...

And as we see, we still seem to be discussing what went wrong rather than what can be done... well I believe that the solution is not akways falling back on the old.. Yes, take the best part from old, take the lessons learnt too.. but constantly think of new ideas too... Without the new ideas, the excitement will never sustain...

it is because of the unnecesary chatting and spamming tht we had to close them. otherwise we were hving them evry week.

simtara sorry but Fan clubs cannot b allowed here anymore. chatty threads if related to the section or some fun stuff can b allowed but again those "hi" and "bye" yu r tlking about cannot b allowed. tht is considered as spamming. to greet each other or catch each other on that much personal level we hve PM. and belive me even we use the same among ourselves. every morning whn i come online i hve pm's frm many greeting me. and before leaving again we leave messages for them saying bye.

I guess I'm having a hard time dealing with the fact that first a community was built in the SRGMP section and then roughly distributed and scattered into the general forum.
Just as in real life I don't go up to the strangers I see on campus and say, "Hey, how're you doing? How are classes?" I also would not start talking to complete strangers on IF when I know I already have friends I'm more interested in catching up with.

That's one issue. The second is coming up with new solutions. I agree Jayji... it is important to take the good from the old. It is also important to have new ideas. I guess I was rather comfortable with all that was involved with the old - other than some of the members who would log on only to disrupt the happiness and flow of the community with rude and unneccesary remarks and their spam, and all the "fights" that took place because a few members were not tactful in their posts. There were many new and creative topics being posted all the time "in the old." I feel like the problem lay more in maintanence of the section at that point.

Sorry mods - I understand you have a difficult job. I did feel like there were either too many or not enough mods on this section. It also felt like not all the mods were on the same page as far as leniancy/strictness of the application of rules were concerned. There were times where it felt that there were two different sets of rules and different mods were applying either, or.

Like I said... there's no dearth of creativity in this section. Past threads have been proof of that. We don't need new ideas for games and such...we keep coming up with them as it is. I feel the better solution - personally anyway - would be to ensure that one standard set of rules (perhaps with input from members (as Jaadooji had suggested in his PM-survey idea)) that would be understood and followed by all members, and also enforced appropriately by the mods, will ensure a happy and safe environment in which we can all participate in again.

For me - survey through PM is perfect... People can be more free there to express their views... Also the groupism thoughts will be kept at bay through the PM survey....😊

And as for the transparency of a PM survey... at least I have full faith on our Mods 👍🏼

This sounds like a good plan..Request maximum participation please.

Jadoo bhai please ek questionnaire tayyar kijiye and post the questinnaire here. Members can then copy it ,fill it up and Pm to the concerned Dev team memebrs. Please do not post the filled in Survey form here.

Is the Dev team and others agreeable to this suggestion?
