Guys,

Both Midas and HR are upset that on their thread, we are discussing Debo and Vinit.

So lets not digress from the topic.

Mohini, this is a forum where we come to express our views.

So going by that, there can never be an attempt to supress anyone's views

And we are not even wanting to do that.

All i said is IT IS UNFAIR to compare two ghazal singers with a self proclaimed ROCK star.

its akin to comparing apples with oranges.

The saying goes - "you cannot compare apples with oranges and say apple is sweeter". Put identicals on same platform to compare.

My saying that is no attempt to supress the voice of any fan of HR. Its merely questioning his choice of artiste to compare.

This is a debate, so lets not lose objectivity here.

No two people are identical. If we were to separate people based on their genre of songs - we'd have all specialists.

Say, tomorrow someone was to say - I've been to Sonu, AR Rehman, Shaan, Himesh concerts, but Jagjit's concert touched my heart the most - and then, an HR fan comes and says - Your comparison is baseless.. you cannot compare a ghazal singer with a rockstar.. of course a ghazal would touch your heart more than a rock or party song - so please don't compare Jagjit with Himesh and say his song touched you more.

Would you agree that since the comparison is baseless, no-one can say Jagjit's concert touched them more than Himesh's?

Beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder. When you are in love with some thing you become a poet. You start comparing face with chaand, chaal with hirani, aanken with nasha and so on. We fans do become poet at times 😃

Shady, you missed the point.

How can you compare a ghazal concert with a rock concert.

I may enjoy both, each has a different mood.

The whole point of comparison is where we lost the original point of debate, which is whether HR lost his Midas touch.

this forum moderators and senior members should be all awarded for criticising HR "successfully" EVERYTIME.

This is entertainment industry, friends....people go thru the cycle of success and failure all the time...if the rise is sharp so is the fall.

Most of the people in the world hover around being average . Let us not undermine somebody's success even if it is shortlived. Let us compare our success to his ( in our respective fields) and see where we stand. I can only say that i know HR is more successful then i am and he deserves respect for that.

😕

I compared. I respect him for reasons other than his music or singing.

With HR - I cannot associate any art other than the art of marketing. But again marketing is not an art but scientific commercialisation 😃

So we were not even talking of an artist here 😛

The success that HR received over the past one year was written in his fate. And it will be his fate that will determine when the downfall comes. If we were to realize that, we'd spend a lot less time cribbing about his success or praying for his downfall.

Thomas Edison once said - If we spent less time thinking about other people, and more time thinking about things, we'd have a lot more inventors in this world.

I'd like to modify that - If we spent less time thinking about other people, and more time thinking about ourselves, we'd have a lot more happy people in this world.
