Some points I would like to put here
a) Judges expressed a view that after hearing everyone, they felt it would not be right to knock out Sunitha. REPEAT JUDGES EXPRESSED A VIEW. This is not something told by any MENTOR or CONTESTANT or member of public here. Surely, the Judges are allowed to express their opinion. What if the person had been Mauseed and the Judges felt the same?
In my opinion, if we have asked them to judge the contest, let them have that liberty to also express their views. This is not a "STAGE" show where once a decision is made, it cannot be undone. This is a "FORUM contest" amongst members living in different parts of the world, on a talent based format.
If the judges felt that out of the five who participated, they were unable to make up thier minds on who should be knocked out and being bound by the rules, had to make a decision, did so and later came back to ask if they can reverse it, I think NO HARM DONE. We should not go and attack the Judges for this. There was a comment, calling for the Judges to be removed and comments like this are in poor taste.
b) Making a comment insuating that this decision is not that of the Judges but for some other motive.
Unfortunate that such comments come, as this is casting aspersion on all.
c) I understand in one of the earlier rounds, one contestant had used some echo effect or background effect, which apparently was not allowed in the show. Later, the contestant was given a chance to rectify that mistake.
In this case, it is the Judges who is asking for a modification of their results. It is their opinion that Four contestants should go ahead, as all four stand on equal footing.
My two cents 😳
This is but a show, held on the forum, where all of us here are friends and co members.
The rules for this first round has been flexible from day one, as no one here is an expert in conducting the contest and the rules have been made flexible, as it is evolving daily, based on the needs of the contestants, the Judges, the Mentors etc.
Someone got out in round one. Someone got out in round two. Till date the Judges have not asked for this and have today, been placed in the unenviable position, of having to judge a contest where four Maharathis of music are competing with each other and they have not been able to make up their mind on who to be knocked out. In this, they have asked for a way in which one contestant can be retained in this round, then the final will decide the ultimate winner.
Barnali came up with a solution whereby the guys knocked out in the earlier rounds get a chance as well, a short round and the best one goes to the final, akin a wild card entry.
Why not do it.
arent we doing this for fun?
Tomorrow, when we start Round Two of the Contest, we will be using the experience of this year to form rules for the next and that would be a lot more competitive than this years. Can we not evolve with experience?
I understand it is a matter of principles, but even in the real life format, we had incidents like this. Judges like you and me, are human.
Lastly 😉 The TRPs have certainly increased for this show. So isnt this a good sign?
(had posted this in the Mentors thread, posting it here with some logical changes)
