I do not know anyone better than Nihira, Nihira is the best singer in SRGMP contestants.

Nihira has unique & perfect voice for playback singing.
Her "Sadhana" (Riyaz) has made her capable of singing in wide range of scales. ( remember hare rama hare krishna ..?)

All music fans and most of the judges agreed on one point that Nihira seldomly lost her sur.

Very rarely, through out the challenge, she got scoldings from mentors or Judges.

This is about her singing .... apart from that, an artist needs to be a good human being and should know that s/he has to learn more and so be humble and down to earth. ( Which Nihira is )

I remember 24 Feb finals of C2005 when all contestants, judges etc gathered on stage with Debojit after he was declared as winner.

Nihira (ONLY NIHIRA) moved forwad to touch feet of Pt. Shivkumar Sharma and Hariprasad Chaurasia. These two were senior to most of the people on stage present there, but all others just ignored it.

Why others did not think of it. ?

This humble nature is seen in people like Amitabh Bachhan, Sachin Tendulkar, Lata Mangeshkar, Dr. APJ Abdul kalam Etc.

Nihira may not be as big name today like these one but one day it will be a big name.

Nihira is getting many offers from different banners.
What else decides success of artist ? opportunities are given to artist where talent is seen by people in the industry.

I do not think these MDs judge singers by one song but go for overall performance.

SO.............. NIHIRA IS THE BEST .

I couldn't agree with you more Tushar, I don't think I can add anything more in that. I am waiting for the day when she receives an award for singing from none other than hamari apni Lata ji. 😊

Was Hari ji present on the Grand Finale? Why don't I remember.

There is a chinese proverb
If you get two coins,
spend one coin for food,
spend other for flower,
Food will keep you alive, flower will give you cause to live.

Nihira's voice is like that flower which tells us how beautifull this world is...and so our lives are

I am referring to 2005. Not earlier...
Who was with Pt. Shivkumarji ?...I am not sure...can you remember ? some senior person was thier if not hariji....important is touching their feet showing respect to their life long sadhana... which Nihira did.

On similar incidence , Mr. D. B. Deodhar, a veteran cricketeer close to age 98 then, attended a function where cricket celebrities and players were gathered. Only Sachin noticed him and immediately went up to him , touched his feet and spoke to him for some time...all others were ignorant....

Hi Tushar,

First of all, thanks for starting this post on behalf of Nihira Fan Club. šŸ‘

I totally agree with your post. After seeing Nihira live in performance in New Jersey, it reconfirmed my belief in her tremendous talent and her simple, humble attitude.... 😃

She mezmerized the audience with her rendition of "Aaj jaane ki zid na karo..." a song which had practically no musical accompaniment. It was just Nihira's brilliant voice and pindrop silence in the auditorium. It was such a moving, soulful rendition which I will never forget...

About Nihira's attitude - when I told her after the concert that "it was wonderful". She immediately told me that it was a team effort. No more words required here!!!

She has absolutely no starry qualities or airs about her. Everyone here knows that Dizzybanana and I have posted lots of pictures of Nihira, Hema, Himani and other singers. We had printed some posters to get autographed. Nihira was so excited to see her pictures... everytime she saw a picture, she was like "Aunty, can I please keep this one? " I really felt like I was talking to my neice!! šŸ˜† šŸ˜†

I would also add, that Nihira has great discipline which is obvious from the ease with which she sings the most difficult songs. This is another quality that will carry her very far.

Regarding her recorded voice quality... These young singers have barely recorded 2 or 3 songs!! That is hardly a basis for making any kind of judgement. In any case, I cannot think of a sweeter, more beautiful recorded voice that I have heard in recent years than Nihira's recording of "Kasam Se". Let her songs from films like "Salaame Ishq" (she has a duet and solo), Ismail Darbar's film and others like "Marigold" come out... then we can talk about how she sounds in recordings. But I have no doubt in my mind that she will easily outclass every female singer in her genre and more... Listen to her renditon of "Aaj jaane ki zid" and "dum maro dum/I love you" in the Amar Sangeet Concert links below. These are two songs that are like two extremes - one is soft and enticing and the other is absolutely rocking !!!! I'll let Nihira's singing speak for itself...

Dum maro Dum - Audio link

I love you - Audio link

Dum maro dum/I love - Video link

Aaj jaane ki zid na karo - Audio link

Aaj jaane ki zid na karo - Video link

Thanks,
Vinaya.
