For a career which began almost ten years ago, Himesh Reshammiya has come a long way, and is undoubtedly Bollywood's hottest composer today. Starting out by putting nearly 1500 hours for Zee TV alone, Himesh entered films when he composed a chart topping number for the flick, Pyaar Kiya To Darna Kya in 1998. Two years later, he got his first solo break with Dulhan Hum Le Jaenge, and Himesh caught the fancy of the industry.
Then came the phenomenally successful Tere Naam, which remained the best seller for over a year, and Himesh had so arrived. But it was probably Humraaz which marked a turning point in his career, which set the pace of the thriller that the movie was, perfectly.
Both raga based melodies and sprinted youthful numbers come easy to this composer, which is well reflected in movies like Aitraaz, Garam Masala, Taarzan – The wonder car, Aashiq Banaya Aapne, and Maine Pyaar Kyon Kiya to name a few. Ringing box office success and popularity polls, and little wonder that the man is amongst the busiest music composes in Bollywood today.
