Ronkini Gupta is been credited as the music composer for this song (a bhajan) from Mr. Ya Miss ---

Is she the same Ronkini Gupta who won 2 SRGMP megafinals like World Series and other? If so, she deserves to be applauded for getting Sonu Nigam to sing for her and getting her song included in the soundtrack of a film produced by such big name like Ram Gopal Varma. Not sure if she is planning to take music composition for films seriously but while other SRGMP participants are just happy getting a song to sing, this girl was able list herself as a music composer and get the top name like Sonu to sing for her itself is a creditable thing.

She is the girl I would say "who dared to be different".

Please do listen to her song. The music she gave is just ok not great though.

I wonder the same if it is the same Ronkani Gupta we know from SRGMP days. Having Sonu sing for her and for RGV film hats off. Music is not so bad but it is ok. I wish there was a way to confirm is it is the same Ronkani.

She is the girl I would say "who dared to be different" 👏

Varshaji,

I found rave reviews of Ronkini's composition. Here are some of them

IndiaFM.com

Ronkini Gupta is the guest composer for the final song 'Kaanha Kaanha'. The number comes as a complete surprise in the beginning as it is a shift from the pop tracks that had come earlier but on hearing closely, one can sense that it could well have an element of humor in the movie's narrative as at places it describes the plight of being a woman. Very well written by Satchit Puranik, it has Sonu Nigam coming up with the best sung song in the entire album. A beautiful composition that makes for an extremely pleasant hearing experience!

SmashHits.com

Spiritualism with loads of witty humor in satirical verses and phrases impresses and entertains in "Kanha Kanha". It's worshipping Lord Krishna and emanating con acts of evil world in humorous ways. Sonu Nigam delivers slow paced penchant soundtrack with classical musical set up. This is the only track from guest composer Ronkini Gupta, and it impresses too.

IndiaGlitz.com

Kaanha Kaanha [Singer: Sonu Nigam, music: Ronkini Gupta, lyrics: Satchit Puranik]

Seems its the season of devotional numbers being incorporated in the movies. Just a few days back we had one by Jagjit Singh in Shikhar and now it is Sonu Nigam's turn to come up with one in 'Kaanha Kaanha'. The last song in the album, it has good lyrics by Satchit Puranik, but in the context of the movie they should turn out to be hilarious as they deal with the suffering Aftab Shivdasani is going through after being converted into Antara Mali [that's the plot of the movie!]. Extremely well sung by Sonu Nigam, inspite of the theme, it doesn't loose its devotional essence. Quite enjoyable track by composer Ronkini Gupta, even if one hears it stand-alone without keeping the movie's storyline in mind.

Qwest, VJ, Barnali, Swar.. Do you folks have any additional information on Ronkini Gupta -- the music composer

Thank you Barnali Di for confirming. Ofcourse, I know Ronkini very well. I have seen her cruising through 10 odd rounds of the roll over series, I have seen her in the initial and the final rounds of SRGMP World Series in Dubai. About a year back Zee had presented a golden series where they had came out with an episode each on Ronkini, Arpita Mukherjee, Hrishikesh Ranade and Rahul Saxena (those who won 2 or more megafinals) that included best of them in SRGMP. I have recordings of those with me. In one of the rounds of world series, I remember Jagjit Singh was the judge and he asked Ronkini to sing any song that comes to her mind immediately, and she sang Kishoreda's kuchh to log kahenge...it was wonderful. I also recall her chalka chalka kalse ka pani .. it was beautiful but not good as Nihira's chhalka chhalka in C2005.

What is she up to these days? I know she could not reach the top 12 of II2. Did she get any films offers? I recall, all the top MDs were present for World Series final in Dubai? How come they are not giving breaks to Ronkini, Hrishikesh who were the winners of multiple SRGMP contests but less talented C2005 singers are getting breaks.... really a sad story..

Hey Qwest-ji, you are most welcome. I enjoy your posts too. They are very informative. You are the reason why I come to the forum. If you, VJ and Barlali Di weren't posting I would have stopped coming to the forum long back.
