if a contestant just on the basis of creating a place for himself in the hearts of public and inspiring them to send him lakhs of votes is deserving to qualify as the true winner of a talent hunt then why do we need to label these competitions as singing or dancing competitions
why not we just replace them wit personality or acting competitions???? 😛
because thts wht the contestants r required to do the most today
the contestant wit the best ability to cry at the drop of a hat and win the maximum sympathy ensures himself a place in the finals 😛

Hmm..Shady,That was emotional 😛

Debojit won..gud,You making him sound like a National hero which I dont think he is.
The fact is that,Debojit won becuase of Assam. He did benefit from regional voting,One can't deny that.

For me,Hemachandra will always be a true winner becuase he reached the top with virtually no support from Down South, where he hails from.
😊 just my POV 😊

i totally agree with u on this one arunji....😊

Verry correct Jadoo ji, but forgive me my thinking is that's where we are losing our focus. We focus most of the times just winning not the route we take to win or what after winning.

If we win officially yes it feels good but if not truly 'deserving' (which is always debatable) will winner be there for a long time??? If the official winner is not truly desreving he/she can not win the game for long time & will not be successful in the end for long term. Time itself takes care of truth so 'just official winning' not truly deserved is short term win & willl lose in long run. Just my point of view.

To me if you are winning following the rule of the game, then you are deserving winner. You can not say a murderer as murderer untill he or she proved to be murderer by the rule of land. Like you will always say Hema as true winner, some will say Nihira as true winner and other will say Vinit as true winner but all those things are your unofficial perspective which will all conflict with other. But Debojit is the official winner thats it. Same way Qazi, Ruprekha, Sandeep and Abhijeet are also officila winner and chosen by majority of people. It personal liking and opinion will always be controversial until it becomes fact. If UA will win they will be desrving winner as majority like them and if BS win then they will be deserving winner as majority like them. And I know whinning is one of the major human behaviors.

shady what u wrote applies to debu perfectly.i read in a newspaper that there had been always a rift between people of assam and bengal and that debo winning srgmp has contributed in a huge way in bridging that gap.so debu hats off to u 👏 👏 👏

however if u look at besuras like sandeep and qazi are they deserving.they won only coz of regional support and more importantly their looks.debo has had the ability in his singing to win hearts but what about these two besuras.they are not good singers at best mediocre so how do u explain their winning.they won only coz a portion of public supported em not the whole of india

Shady Bhai,
Tumne mera dil jeet liya. Debu was a deserving winner all along. Can't say the same thing about other programs because I have my doubts about the winners of some other contests but here is my view about SRGMP.
Indian public did pretty well in selecting the top 5. Debu, Nihira, Vinit, Himani, Hemu (in no particular order). No one else, in my opinion could have been more deserving of Top 5 slots. Which corroborates my belief that Indian Public did really well in selecting people and that the regionalism had absolutely no hand in top 5 selection.

Having said that, once the top 5 were decided, there was very little to differentiate between these 5. On a given day any one of them could have beaten the other 4. In their own respective rights, they were individually winners. Vinit and Himani, in my opinion forfeited their chances by participating in "Anti Debu" drama. Debu was the most humble of them all and remained calm towards his co-participants even in the worst of situations (remember when they staged that dramatic walk-out) and I think in the end.... those were the things that won the hearts of people.

So in a nutshell, I agree with you Shady. One has to be win the heart of masses to win... not just perform.
