So you still didn't answer the question? How should Paresh have modified that to make it less blunt and still get his honest point across? 😃

let's confirm with others that they want to go with it. want to avoid a situation where i state things, then have someone else from the "opposite" viewpoint come in saying the transcripts dont work... has happened before in other contexts. in practical terms, i really want to hear this time what others think of this transcript..

want to know where the fish is before i go on the fishing expedition😉😆

The topic of this thread is "Paresh Rawal - the best guest". Why would anyone object to the transcripts that tell us exactly what he said when he was a guest?

Paresh Rawal is the best guest judge by far 👏 . He had impressed me years ago with his acting, now I'm impressed again seeing his honesty.

haha... hope a lil recap wont hurt "nobody" now?

1. for 10-20 pgs, i have been saying that negative feedback shld ideally not be provided in public view; basically 1 position.

2. received various responses which i wld not like to characterize. but take "samajhdhar ko ishaara kaafi" and "honesty is the best policy" type of responses from various gunijan. what was the implication there?

3. the implication so far was that negative feeedback is ok.

4. what are we trying to show now with the transcripts? that paresh was not negative.

5. a different tack, what say?

do i have it right so far? lemme know before i continue. will dispense with the transcript dont worry

I would've loved to pitch in here earlier but couldn't due to this hawaldar's job!

Now what we are debating about? From the previous 14+ pages it seems like we are debating on

  1. Paresh Rawal as a judge – good / bad / doesn't matter!
  2. Ethics and principals of debating!!
  3. Classifications of debating
  4. Dolphin migration patterns (I know it wasn't in picture before, but if others can bring office supplies or bulldozers in the picture – why can't I bring Dolphins? At least they are CUUUUUUTEEEE! 😳)

To start with – why debate? Hmmm good question! Let me ask – why not? It helps yet-to-be married people to balance their hormonal level in the same way as beer. For the married people debate helps to release their frustration of daily life same way as punching bag or stress ball. On the other hand – what else than debate? Golden silence of emoticons?

Now for me – I am running out of steam nowadays! In between my day job (paradigm shifting by empowering the knowledge workers), too many virtual and real life friends (and I do care for them), taking my daughter to the zoo during weekends and washing dishes after dinner plus this Viewbie job leaves very few grey cells to throw in! Not only in IF – everywhere I am feeling too tired to continue any 'meaningful' conversation. I just received a mail from my younger brother who is in his final year of engineering and still believe his big bro posses same volume of grey cells as Count De Savant.

He asked me – 'Do you see "Time" as a sequence of discrete events or simply a line of perception through infinite possibilities'? Few years earlier I would've walk down to the bookshelf, take out "Brief History of Time" by Stephen Hawkins and try to articulate a half backed answer from there for my brother. Not necessarily that will make any sense or convince anyone – but I will appear intelligent in-duh-vidual in front of others.

Now I don't have much energy left – So when my bro asked 'Do you see "Time" as a sequence of discrete events or simply a line of perception through infinite possibilities'?- My answer would be – "I see Time as a magazine" and move on.

Now about illogical arguments – let me ask you – what is logic anyway? From Big bang theory to nasal = sufiana by HR via weapons of mass destruction – all are logical, unless you prove it wrong. Same goes for irrelevant analogy. Let me give you an example – "Soar like an Eagle" – how many soaring eagles you have seen in your life? And if they are that great why there are so few of them? But we use that analogy – don't we?

At last – let me come to come to Paresh Rawal as a guest judge of EMAET –

Why do you think the purpose of bringing these guest judges? To me - it's just a mutual marketing activity – nothing else. I promote my products in your platform – you use my celebrity status to market your platform! Symbiotic relationship. Paresh did a good job or not? I think he did some value add to the show, Paresh Rawal has very little chance to be an eye candy like Diya or Amrita anyway. Did that helped contestants and they will change themselves totally after listening to Paresh's comments? I don't think so. Occam 's razor for me – the simplest solution is the right one always!😃

BTW: I am so dependent on Occam 's razor nowadays that on the days when I don't have a client meeting - I stopped using Gillette Razor to save some time .

If you think I wrote the above gibberish with a delusional mind frame – you are right – I wrote it last night at 2 am in the notepad – even after high dose of caffeine my brain stopped functioning properly and forgot to post it. 😳

brilliant.... that was the best read i've had in eons, ages, many moons and all those different eras thrown in!!! that's humor, wit, knowledge, perspective all thrown in, together with other adjectives i am a bit too sleepy-eyed to recall!!!

i love that qn from your brother "Do you see "Time" as a sequence of discrete events or simply a line of perception through infinite possibilities'? Just the sort of stuff i'd LOVEEEE to get into... Could take that question into areas of philosophy, religion, physics... in some ways they are integrated...

Anol, we have to now strip u of ur other duties LOL and get u to post more...👏

btw, everything was great except the "washing dishes after dinner". yaar, instead of training, u ended up getting trained? kaise manager ho? J/K😆

Basically your position was that there was nothing great about Paresh Rawal because his statements would not have helped contestants and anyway negative feedback in public view never helped anyone You branded his statements as negative). Most people said that an honest appraisal would always help anywhere, anytime, whether it lasted for a few seconds or longer. I made the statement that if negative feedback in the public domain was bad, then music reviews in the media were also bad, since they would also be disseminated to the public. You did some nit pciking there about obligations and responsibilities.

Shady gave a different spin to the debate by presenting the verbatim report of what Paresh said. And oh my God, it became clear that Paresh had been far from negative. Now, instead of admitting that his appraisal had indeed been honest and not really negative, you are trying to still stand on the moral high ground by saying that we have moved to a different track.

A little introspection would go a long way.
