All in the Nihira Fanclub were wondering if there is any news on Nihira's impending trip to USA. You had once listed the cities and dates. Are there any modifications to that? Is she coming to the west coast? We live on the North West part of the country. specifically Portland, Oregon. We were wondering if she is coming to Seatle. If there were a panel of judges, I think it would have been for starters, 2 winners - one female and one male...

I think it would have been a close call between Nihira and Himani because they have different voices and its hard to compare. I might offend the more serious Nihira fans but I dont think Nihira can pull of a Chittiye or a Daer Na Ho Jaaye or even a Kache Dhaage.. and then again Himani can never do a O Saathi Re or a Kehna hi Kya like Nihira.. So, it would be a tough call... I might go with Nihira coz she sang some REALLY hard songs..

In guys, it would be Hemu hands down. He and Debo were probably the most versatile who tried with all kinds of songs. He had a great voice, good throw and super expressions. For those who said some of his performances were bad.. I just wanted to know which ones are you refering too? Personally his worse was on the Republic Day episode and he got voted out after that. But other than that, consistently he was good. He was in danger inspite of getting high marks from the mentors showing that it was just a voting flaw. That way Nihira was also in danger.. does that deem her value as a singer? I would rate Hemu over Debo just because he handled most songs with a flourish that Debo lost out at times.. he was never trying to hard.. which made the performance just mind blowing..

Did you know Pt.Jasraj and Biddu had judged Debu as a better singer than Vinit. It was in the previous show-the fame2005show?(Not sure of the name) Debu had rendered an Ajoy Chakroborty number to complete perfection..!!

So Debu already was a winner in the eyes of eminent judges by defeating Vinit..So the question of Vinit at #2 does not arise.

Nihira no doubt about that. If I remember correctly even Himesh ji said one time singing nihira here is like competing high school kid with primary school kids, something along those lines.

As someone who had followed SRGM since its inception, lets not forget that this program (prior to C2005) was only about SUR and had never been about "a perfect voice for playback"...

Talking of Sur, cant see anyone beating Nihira and Abhijeet (who, sadly enough, is not even mentioned in this poll)...

I know a lot of Chandu's fans (many of who are my friends) are going to rip me to shreds for daring to mention Abhijeet ahead of him so please let me explain...
IMHO, its our loss that we didn't get to hear any semi-classical songs from Chandu. His voice quality is definitely better for playback, we know that he has learnt music and, of course, has great breath-control (from what we saw in his "Priyasi")...

But, as I said, SRGM prior to SRGMP was only about sur and we never got to see the actual potential Chandu had...
I'm just going by what I have heard myself on this show and not by what I have heard a person is capable of (because of his interviews/chat/hype)...

Yes Adi I know that. But I have seen C 2005. Debo sang well from 5th or sixth round in finals. Until then he was very inconsistent. His first perfect performance in finals was Humma, Humma. Hence he would have been out a long ago in C 2005. I hope we are not talking Fame competition here😊
