Gajendrra blasts Ek Main....contestants!

Ek Main Aur Ek Tu jodis saw a side of their affable mentor that they now wish they had rather not witnessed - Gajendrra Siingh blasted the jodis for being irresponsible in attending their riyaaz sessions and for developing mighty attitudes, even before they have achieved something in life.

Spanish Villa, home to the jodis, witnessed an explosion of sorts on 13 May. Creator and director of the music talent hunt show, Gajendrra Siingh lashed out at the contestants for throwing starry airs and thinking that they have arrived in the music world. Misguided preconceptions are turning these young, talented singers haughty, feels Siingh and he'll have none of it. He's very clear that the show is a platform for sincere, hard working and talented singers and not for 'stars.'

When asked about the incident, Siingh says, "I have asked them to pack their bags and leave immediately if they do not conform to rules that will help them to enhance their voice skills and make them a better performer. There is no laidback, easy path to success and I do not want them on the show, if their mind is set on just performing at shows."

A majority of the male participants have been adopting a casual attitude to their riyaaz, rehearsals and practice sessions. Music director Anand Sharma, who has been personally guiding the jodis every morning in the two hour riyaaz session, is at his wits end with the participants who do not turn up.

"Apart from sticking to a disciplined regime to be a part of the show, they have a responsibility to lakhs of viewers who vote in for them. My music directors, Anand and Anujj, are very upset at their behaviour and feel sad that their efforts to train them are going nowhere," says Siingh.He adds that so far Hrishikesh / Prajakta and Sinchan/ Irfan have been the only two jodis who have worked sincerely to learn and improve.

None of the participants went on record to confirm the incident, but seemed obviously stung by the ultimatum that Siingh has given them. With four jodis remaining in the contest, every step they take is going to be under close scrutiny.
