Hi Friends
I know this topic belongs to IL2 and it is already old.. but read the Pubilc voting opinion from last year IL top 3 guys... and if possible give your opinion too

"Karunya should have won!"

N.C..Karunya and Sandeep Acharya

Though underdog Sandeep Acharya walked home with the title of Indian Idol 2 on Saturday, judges and some of the audience had anticipated NC Karunya to win the battle.

So, the judges were surprised, some viewers were flummoxed. And who else is part of the brigade too stunned to react? The top three of the first season-Indian Idol, that's who. Telly Chakkar spoke to the finalists of last year to check what they had to say.

Karunya tops the list!

Abhijeet Sawant, Indian Idol of the first season says, " Karunya was certainly my choice, for the simple reason that he was a good singer and had a lot of talent."

Abhijeet Sawant

Amit Sana, the first runner up says, "Karunya always topped my list as I found him to be a good package. He is an excellent singer, very lively and how can one overlook his performance?" Rahul Vaidya too dances to the same tune and chips in, "Well, I found Karunya the best of the lot! He is a very talented guy."

Voting gone awry?

"I guess the voting this time was very aggressive; it was different in our time. We can now track a lot of regional voting than voting for the talent on the stage," says Abhijeet.

Amit Sana

Amit too agrees, says that the involvement is such that even if the viewer is asked to vote once, they go on voting for the same person. While this is what the two have to say, Rahul has something different to offer. "This show is full of surprises, so anticipation plays no role here. I guess the winning of a contestant is totally dependent on luck. Even though Sandeep won the competition, I was confident about it as I was aware of the voting system!

Vote out the vote?

All three stick to the voting pattern and don't mind compromising on talent! "If we avoid the involvement of the public on our show, the show will not recieve the kind of popularity it has till date," says a confident Abhijeet.

Rahul Vaidya

Amit and Rahul both agree. Sawant adds, "Same happened in the case of Debojit too. Sa Re Ga Ma works n the decision of the judges, but what happens there?

None of the winners earn the kind of recognition we do or any other talent hunt show which involves voting." Amit adds, "We have to compromise somewhere or the other, if we want one thing, have to lose out on the other." Rahul says, "Well, judges' decision justifies the talent, but then we lose out on the popularity!"

I agree that the show looses its popularity if they avoid involving public in it......But then public has never voted for the talent and the real talent has never won the tittle till date in any of the shows.

First it was Fame Gurukul where the talented contestants like Arijit singh and Arpita lost out but a contestant like Qazi and Ruphrekha won....... 😭

Secondly it happened in saregamapa where contestants like Sharib, Nihira and Hemu deserved to win but look what happened? We had to see Deboo v/s Vinit finals. Although Deboo didnot deserve over Nihira and Hema, he certainly was better then Vinit.......so I didnot mind when deboo won..

And the most worst thing happened was recently for Karunya when he lost out the tittle to Sandeep and had to become again the victim of public voting like what happened to Nihira and Hema in Challenge 2005. Although it was not surprising for me it really came out as a shock thinking that again the public has messed up voting. And So this has not become anything new for me......

So henceforth I have decided not to keep any hopes for our favorites if it is a public voting system because it ruins everything.

Commenting on this particular line, I think popularity will stay with you depending if u have talent or not.. if you are good you will be remembered..just because you took part or won a reality show doesn't make u a good singer or successful in bollywood.. Last years top 4 were good singers so people know them... what happened to the singers in FG ? Ruprekha and Qazi are no where to be seen, Sony isn't promoting them as they did to Sawant because Sawant was a good singer and I would say deserving of the title, the episode with top 3 was very good..when I was watching SRGMP with top 3, it reminded me of II 1 with top 3.. Abhijeet - Debojeet, Amit - Hemu and Rahul Vaidya - Vinit... the similarities are almost scary !!!

II winners and contestants are popular.. but unless they are soemthing all together like Karunya or Amey I dont think they can last long in this industry..

Yea, I agree he should've won. Even coming in Second place, he was laughing and smiling. But I think he should've gotton more attention. Sandeep got like a car, 3 Lakh visa card, 1 crore contract...what else, and Karunya only got like 50,000/-RS (I think it's like that) Visa. Did Anu Malik and Sonu like it when Sandeep won. My uncle said that they didn't. 😕 What do you think?

Thanks Kavita ji for sharing the interview of the three besura's.

Abhijit Sawant leads with a huge margin in the besura contest. Amit Sana and Rahul Vaidya are strictly OK.
