A R Rehman- Personally- my favourite- quality of sound, a lot of instrumentation (seems like actual use of instruments rather technical wizardry), innovative and uses different voices. Keeps himself limited by not composing for everyone so not overheard.

Shankar Ehsan Loy- very indian and melodious.

HR- also very innovative. Should be careful to not over supply himself. Otherwise his demand may fade. Also I would recommend he use his voice to a minimum and make it a special feature rather than the norm. Otherwise great sound.

Vishal Shekar- first to incorporate a hip hop flavour to their music has a world feel about it.

Pritam and Shantanu Moitra have to still prove themselves to me completely. Otherwise I love Dhoom and Parineeta.

My all time favourite is RD burman , but I guess we are not talking about the past.

Can anyone tell me about Viju Shah? That person is completely out of notice. He has composed unique and excellent music for GUPT.

My personal Fav. one and only AR Rehman.

AND HR, more for his N contribution and of course acting.

Mr Appaji,

The actual phrase in its entirety is "Jack of all trades, master of none, though ofttimes better than master of one". 😉

Slight correction deep.

He is a master mouth breather. He uses his nose for a different purpose. 😉
