I liked the older show better than the new one because:

1. I enjoyed the music and singing better
2. I didn't have to hear too many 'besura' singers (this is my biggest issue)
3. I liked the format better
3.1. No meaningless AVs and chit-chat
3.2. More focus on singing than dancing/looks
3.3. Judges vs Public Voting

You know, I remember every Monday, I used to look forward to coming home and watching Shaan/Sonu (I enjoyed their opening songs). And I used to watch it real-time.

Now thanks to DVR,
I can tolerate the show. There's always that FF-button that come in so handy, you know.

Bottom line, it used to be a fulfilling and peaceful experience to watch the old show, and it is a 'huh?' frustrating experience to watch the new show. My opinion.

Just because someone disagrees with my POV, doesn't mean they don't know what they are talking about, it just means they have different interests than me.

I can't help but saying that SRGM was much better in old format when Sonu Nigam used to host the show. I totally agree with Shehjaadi91 what she said here: "when challenge 2005 started i actually liked the format. i thought the idea of gharanas was excellent. but the fact that these MDs would start fighting with each other was not predictable. they probably did not know it themselves. also C2005 did not really loose quality until agnipariksha round. this is really when things got bad. i do not think that public voting was needed because to choose a good singer one would trust an experienced and knowledgable musician rather than common people."

am fine with what u're saying. just not sure why someone wld think that the new format did not deliver the "good singer" that u'd come to expect from the old format. winner had to be just one. but along the way, there were so many others who got discovered and made a name for themselves than they wld have otherwise.

rest of my arguments on singers is there on the first post itself... still do not see any valid arguments against those. my POV

sorry 4 sounding like a know-it-all, but my POV only-

perhaps all your points from 1 to 3 were based more on what you thought/ felt? there was no real support other than that it was your opinion. becomes a bit more than an opinion if someone cannot come around and say that "i feel otherwise". now contrast that with a fact that may be hard to dispute, irrespective of how someone feels about it... wld be happy to clarify thru pm if needed...
