i like Amey don't get me wrong he is one of the two i like in II2 but when i say originality I mean if you hear people sing on the radio you will make out just by hearing who is singing. we have tons of good singers but unable to make a mark because they r same as the last singer who sang the song. Karunya & Hema (specially hema has a natural tendency to sing regardless of style original singer had) are in a different class in terms of there originality thats all.

I had heard Amey as a teenager years ago and loved him as a singer. I'm sure not all his performances then were a 100% perfect, the same way they are not now. And the performances are not perfect for Hema and Karunya either.

My 2 cents are that it is not really very fair to make a stetement about a singer saying one cannot sing a particular type of songs, or one copies another based on one song only. Both Karunya and Amey did not do well in a couple of songs, but I'd prefer concluding that those were just not their days, rather than saying just not their songs.

As far as originality of voice goes, I'm not sure what it means any more, and how (much) it matters. If A's voice is like B, what can A do about it? Not everyone is gifted with a very unique voice. If the question is about A copying B's "style", then that's a differnt issue. Originality should definitely matter there.
