My favourite song situation....

'Aaj Rapat jaayen tho hame na bulaiyyo...' picturised on Amitabh and Smita Patil, in film 'Namak Halal'...

Wow...the song sequence shot in rain is so sensual....first time I saw Amitabh freaking out so much with a heroine....

😳 😳 😳

I have read that Smita had a near nervous breakdown after doing that rain sequence. She took days to get over it! 😊

Beautiful song indeed. Manna da, I think, if I am not mistaken, at his best. Beautiful indeed.

No, "hain sabse madhur" was by Talat and "yaad kya dil ne" was Hemant Kumar.

Here is one song which quite surprised me with its picturization - 'Hum aapke aankhon mein is dil ko basadein to' from Pyaasa.

I got a shock when I saw that it was a waltz between Guru Dutt and Mala Sinha. Somehow hadn't expected that kind of intimate dance. It sounded more like a teasing song between the hero and heroine.

This is one number i like....

Badraaaa.....hayeeee...
Badra haye key jhuley lag gaye hai key meley
lag gaye mach gayi dhoom rey...
aya sawan....hoooo...jhumkey...aya sawan jhumkey....

A very melodious bollywood rain-sequence...Dharmendra and my favvvvourite Asha Parekh....
The rain sequence is typically conveyed with a rythm of percussions, a set of violin and a sitar (or possibly it could be a jal-tarang)....
Dhamendra and Asha Parekh are dressed in traditional clothes by the gaon-wallas...I distinctly remember the leg-throwing action by Asha Parekh...and Dharmendra's 2-left feet.... still...a very likable song!

Has anyone seen the picturisation of the song
"Guzre hain aaj ishq mein
Humaaj uss makaam se
nafrat sii ho gayi hai
mohabbat ke naam se"

Hum ko na yeh ghumaan tha
woh sangh dill
rahe wafa ke tere behak jayenge kadam
jhalakega zeher bhi teri aakhon ke dwaar se"

Its a very sad, but beautiful words and Rafi of course 😳

Have you seen "tum poochti ho ishq bala hai ke nahin hai"? BEAUTIFUL song by hamara Rafi. Only Manjo Kumar spoils it a bit by tucking a flower behind his ear and singing. WOnder whether this was a custom in mushaairas? Shakila looks coy and sweet.
