Analysis of votes

The analysis below will tell you that although the total number of people from East was the highest which may have contributed to debo's victory he is not Assam's voice only. Even vinit had home turf advantage. if you look at the percentages debojit got less percentage of votes from East than vinit did. so vinit had the home turf advantage in terms of percentage. debo was just lucky that more people were ready to back him so the number was higher. the percentage was lower. in the others it was almost the same.

if you take the percentages indiviually than Vinit is definately ahead because he had 84% from his zone and slightly higher in the other two. Debo had only 71% from his zone.

So vinit fans you can console yourselves that technically he could have been the winner if the results were tabulated by percentage not sheer numbers.

Debo From East got 2 cr 13 lacs. 71.5% & nbsp; & nbsp; Vinit From East got 87 lacs &n bsp; 28.5%

North Total :1 cr 55 lacs &n bsp; &n bsp;

From North D got 25 lacs. 16% &nb sp; &nb sp; &nb sp; &nb sp; From North V got 1 cr 30 lacs 84%

West Total: 75 lacs &n bsp;

From West D got 30 lacs and 41% &nb sp; &nb sp; &nb sp; &nb sp; From West V got 45 lacs and 56%

From South: 21 lacs &n bsp; &n bsp;

From South D got 10 lacks. 48% &nb sp; &nb sp; from South V got 11 lacks. 52%

5 cr 41 lacs

Debo 2.78 crores

Vinit 2.73 crores

Percentage wise:

Debo : 71.5 + 16 + 40 +48 = 175.5 / 4 = 43.88%

Vinit : 28.5 + 84 + 60 + 52 = 224.5 / 4 = 56.12 %

Percentages are not calculated that way..
U have normalised percentages.. That is mathematically wrong!!

I am no mathematician. just having fun with numbers. looked at only the percentages. i have no axe to grind one way or the other.
