i also agree that these singers should not be equated to the older, more experienced singers, but for a different reason.

if you say vinit = rafi or if debo = kishore, this just implies that they have no originality.

a singer is a singer when he/she gets his/her own identity. when i hear a voice, i should be able to say "this is X" or "this is Y", not "this is the guy who sounds like P" or "this is the girl that sounds like Q".

so show that they have originality. coz we dont want another Rafi or another Kishore. we dont want a copycat.

one can understand if these kids(hema/vinit/debo) had a list of achievements like the yesteryear singers..they ve not even started their careers and people here r sayin they r the next hariharan/rafi/kishore..it may be a way to show that ur candidate is the best or bcoz some of the glory of these great singers may get rubbed off to these kids...
but one must understand there is a helluva difference between sounding like some1 and being that next some1.

Right,Sinhaji.There can be only one Rafi sab and one Kishorda.Sonu was considered to be a rafi clone and was not noticed much.But when he became original Sonu he came on top.Clones do not last long.

Im quite happy to have duplicate copies of Kishoreda & Rafi sahab. BUT they must be exactly like them and if I understand any iota of music there won't be another Rafi sahab or Kishoreda for various technical reasons.

Let me highlight one of the sentence "So I humbly request every one to desist from comparing any budding singer with the legends like Rafisahab / Kishoreda/Yesudaas or others."

Whomsoever disagree with the above statement can be categorized as nothing less than fools....
