The anaesthesiologists still claim to not to have erred in the deliverance of their duty towards society. The quandary seems to be between erring unknowingly and knowingly; serving society by injecting the unlucky guy and not injecting a human; be a life saviour and snatcher; remembering that oath and forgetting............Ufffffffff. Too tough decision.😉

I am not comparing Rafi with any one here because he was par excellence. The likes of him come once in a million years.Perhaps Vineet was like Rafi when Rafi was 17 years of age. But then Rafi got mentors like Shyam Sunder Naushad, Sajjad, Ghulam Haider, Rafi Ghazanavi, and the Worked with the greatest music directors India ever had,SD,SJ,LP,Ravi,OP, Chutragupt,Hasanlal Bhagat Ram to name a few.In contrast what Vineet will get is Himesh Reshammya and the likes who will fade away in short time.Do the new singers have the humilty of the older generation? They need a love story, or a Maa ke aansoo to be aired on live shows to get a leverage.Give them a hit song, their brains fly in space as if they have conquered the universe.eg Kumar Sanu, Abheejeet etc

When some one compares an upcoming singer with a previous great stalwart, it does not always mean that they are equating them with the stalwart.

When people said Hemu was like SPB because he sounded like that, implies that he might achieve the same success in this time as what SPB achieved in his time..

Besides, nothing wrong in having a voice similar to a singer. It helps so much in reviving the songs. For example, it it was a Rafi Song, I can totally imagine Sonu pulling it off and sounding pretty good..def. not like Rafi but a great attempt. If Abhijeet or Kailesh Kher sang it, it would sound awful !! Taht is coz the voice matched.

Comparisions if done in right spirt was justified because all you are comparing is that talent in that era. How true it is is a personal opinion...

Vinit is 17 and Rafi was in mid 30s when he sang those soulful numbers.

So evne the thought of comparision doesn't make sense.

I would say that its harder for vinit to become more successful than Rafi Sahab now but then again, maybe in a few years he might be better known than Rafi Sahab ! I am not trying to offend anybody by saying this, but picture this.. most of my generation (I am a university student, so ya relatively young!) have not grown up listening to Lata and Rafi, ours was Alka Yagnik, Kumar Sanu, Udit Narayan era and as we understood music it was Sunidhi, Shreya, Sonu who started coming into limelight.. So for us, we can quote songs of theirs better... We heard of Rafi and the rest either from our parents or from TV channels or music instructors..

Now for my next generation, if I would want them to listen to 'classics', my first preferance would be songs from Bombay, Dil Se, Parineeta etc ! Then maybe I would get them to listen to Rafi and K L Saigal Sahab.. I am a huge fan of theirs but unless the fashion is going in a complete circle, I am pretty sure the kids of tommorrow (atleast a majority of them) wont kno who Rafi, K L Saigal were. Why I am saying kids of tommorow, I am sure a lot of teenagers have never heard of K L Saigal !! I had not heard of Talat Mehmood till very recently.. Rafi Sahab and Kishore da were more famous because of them singing in late 60s as well and the movies tehy sang for were more popular. First Rafi song I heard was Parda Hain in Amar Akbar Anthony.. Kishore Kumar is more popular because he is an eccentric genius.. Lataji and Ashaji are also known because they still sing, else they would soon die out of memories...

I kno its harsh and I am going to recieve some brick backs for what I said, but thats how it is. It is sad, but unless people do some serious damage control to get the kids know more about old Hindi songs, kuch nahin hoga..
