I guess we can attribute this change to the openness in modern actresses - let me expand on this before any unintended meanings get filtered through - Actresses of the old days were expected to be shy, demure, and sari-clad or at the very least Indian attired (of course Zeenat Aman and Asha Parekh did not leave much to imagination). However, tom-boyishness of any sort was not tolerated. Now the masses have begun to accept that behavior and quite frankly, the idea of relating to a sari-clad female who wouldnt mind doing a rain-song is almost impossible!!! So in all honesty i am glad that the hypocrisy is disappearing from Indian cinema.
If there were actresses who were capable of replicating what Jaya Bachan or Nutan or Tanuja had going for them, it would be different story, but that simplicity is almost absent in current-day commercial film actresses. And the non-commercial film actresses are on the bandwagon of extremist feminism!!
Phew...i guess this discussion can go on and on...but in short...i agree that now we need more effiminate voices for male actors... 😆 However, i dont think Vinit can do much justice to that role - i do marginally prefer Vineet's voice to Debo's - emphasis on the word MARGINALLY! 😃
