Yes, ticks, this is disturbing.
All the while Himesh and Aadesh and their disciples were trying to give an impression that ULFA was backing Debojit, and that they were scared. All bullshit! I liked what Debo replied Sifychat (that if that was so he would not have to struggle for so many years in Mumbai to get some chance in the music industry).
I wonder how low they can stoop and disrespect the sentiment of the people in the Northeast. NE has given us stalwarts like our adorable Sachin Dev Burman, RD Burman (whom all modern day composers swear by...infact many earn their living from him!!!), and Bhupen Hazarika. And, why can't Assam's son become "India Ki Voice"?
Himesh, Aadesh has brought great disrepute to music by bringing up the regionalism issue.
And as long as we have people like bangboy and BitrSweetTruth to support their causes, there's little hope that we can bring NE into mainstream affairs, and not let them feel alienated. Grow up...and acknowledge the talents from NE...they are very much a part of the Indian soul.
I dont not post much in this forum, but actually I laughed my head off at the ignorance of some the posters here. Coz anyone who has a little bit knowledge about the NE especially Assam would know that the separatists would never ever support Hindi Movies or Music in their state and that too of a Bengali origin guy from Silchar!
yes, and not to forget PC Barua also.
A separatist would never want a local to become a National HERO!
Yes and NE also have given India a GREAT classical dance form (MANIPURI), their movies have earned National Awards too.
They are great artistic people but the only weakness they have is low self-confidence and inferiority complex, very soft and mild-mannered people (that is the reason why Debojit is also inconsistent I think, per jab sur lagta hai toh dil ko choo leta hai!, if given adequate encouragement , I believe, they can beat the world.
There is immense artistic talent to be tapped in the NE (be it music or dance etc). What they lack is the necessary facilities, environment and the infrastructure.
I am sad to see that even after so many years of independence they are still given step-motherly treatment!
I always thought Music was a medium which knew no boundaries, where humility was a strength.
I am not promoting Debojit, but all this ganging up against a person (an artist) is sickening me!
I hope all this Reality TV stuff do not divide the fragile unity of this great country in the name of Music and the so called Gharanas of music mentors!.
Anyways, Sa re ga ma Pa is not at all about MUSIC now.
I dont think i will watch the next season of Sa re ga ma pa!
