What a fantastic article !!!

One of the big problems in SRGMP is that it promoted "regionalism" from DAY ONE...

Talking about Ujjaini and Raktima splitting votes from Kolkatta... Rajeev getting votes from his home state... etc

They could have completely avoided all the controversy and mess if they did not reveal vote percentages.

You never see II or FG reveal their vote percentages...

Why did SRGMP have to do that ????

Really a nice article..and the points which are discussing in this forum since the walkout episode..somebody has so beautifully mentioned the whole thing on rediff.com.

Go debu..we r with you......I wish AS and HR must read this article..I feel they should ask themselves whether they are really INDIAN?

Yes, ticks, this is disturbing.

All the while Himesh and Aadesh and their disciples were trying to give an impression that ULFA was backing Debojit, and that they were scared. All bullshit! I liked what Debo replied Sifychat (that if that was so he would not have to struggle for so many years in Mumbai to get some chance in the music industry).

I wonder how low they can stoop and disrespect the sentiment of the people in the Northeast. NE has given us stalwarts like our adorable Sachin Dev Burman, RD Burman (whom all modern day composers swear by...infact many earn their living from him!!!), and Bhupen Hazarika. And, why can't Assam's son become "India Ki Voice"?

Himesh, Aadesh has brought great disrepute to music by bringing up the regionalism issue.

And as long as we have people like bangboy and BitrSweetTruth to support their causes, there's little hope that we can bring NE into mainstream affairs, and not let them feel alienated. Grow up...and acknowledge the talents from NE...they are very much a part of the Indian soul.

I dont not post much in this forum, but actually I laughed my head off at the ignorance of some the posters here. Coz anyone who has a little bit knowledge about the NE especially Assam would know that the separatists would never ever support Hindi Movies or Music in their state and that too of a Bengali origin guy from Silchar!

yes, and not to forget PC Barua also.

A separatist would never want a local to become a National HERO!

Yes and NE also have given India a GREAT classical dance form (MANIPURI), their movies have earned National Awards too.

They are great artistic people but the only weakness they have is low self-confidence and inferiority complex, very soft and mild-mannered people (that is the reason why Debojit is also inconsistent I think, per jab sur lagta hai toh dil ko choo leta hai!, if given adequate encouragement , I believe, they can beat the world.

There is immense artistic talent to be tapped in the NE (be it music or dance etc). What they lack is the necessary facilities, environment and the infrastructure.

I am sad to see that even after so many years of independence they are still given step-motherly treatment!

I always thought Music was a medium which knew no boundaries, where humility was a strength.

I am not promoting Debojit, but all this ganging up against a person (an artist) is sickening me!

I hope all this Reality TV stuff do not divide the fragile unity of this great country in the name of Music and the so called Gharanas of music mentors!.

Anyways, Sa re ga ma Pa is not at all about MUSIC now.

I dont think i will watch the next season of Sa re ga ma pa!

This is the biggest bunch of BS i have ever read. You have your facts wrong and cannot jump into this forray by watching just one episode. Debojit is a good singer but the fact is that the judges themselves have given more points to the other singer, who are much better. Nihira got a perfect 10 score and so did Himani and Debojit got less, and he was voted in. The fact that other contestants have just 10-15% of home votes infact Nihira had less votes from Mumbai and Himani had more from Mumbai even though Nihira was from Mumbai.
Debojit gets 75% votes from Assam, where there are not even that many mobile phone connections ! Does anyone check or count the votes he gets ?? Is there any transperancy ? We believe what they say.
Good talent goes out and it is an insult to music when people push a lesser talent when its their home state.
As far is Vinit goes, he is by far the best male singer out there, infact he will rule Indian music in the coming years, I can bet on that.
The last few episodes in Debo sang, he lost his voice in all 3 - and thats why he was given less marks by the judges.
These SMS programs are busy filling their pockets on the cost of Talent and taking people for ride. Plus writers like you are taking your medium for granted by imposing you incorrect views on others. You have a platform, please dont misuse it !

Another one bites the dust !!!!

Vinit is the best male singer yet Debojit beat the shi* out of him in SaReGaMa Fame 2005 when Pt. Jasraj was among the judges !!!!!

😉 😉 😉

Dude, accept the verdict in a public voting scenario. Don't create issues of regionalism. People like you have led to divisions in the past and will lead one day to creation of 100 countries out of our motherland.

Besides, why isn't the rest of India voting as extensively if not more. Have you tied their hands or is it me ??

😡 😡 😡

YES you are right DEBOJIT has been a victim of some cheap politics. But I hope he bounces back and gives those IDIOTIC MORONS a tight kick in their butts and become the champion.
DEBOJIT YOU ARE THE BEST.

My dear Anshuman, why dont you post your expert comment on the website itself? 😡 http://in.rediff.com/movies/2006/feb/02peri.htm You will definitely get a bigger visibility amongst net users.

There is a link for posting comments at the bottom of the page. Good Luck!!!

People, the most important part of the article is getting lost in your riff-raff.

SRGMP as a franchise is the main culprit by revealing regional percentages and fomenting regionalism, by broadcasting the sensational quarrels. Please focus your ire on the instigator.
