For me the sa re ga ma challenge ended the day Nihira lost. After almost 3 weeks I still cannot come to terms with what happened to her. Was I prejudiced? I dont think so. I think she compelled me and many like myself to like her and she did that, not with her looks, charisma or capabilities to sway on the stage but through her impeccable singing - now I dont say that contestants who have those other qualities are bad or dont deserve to win. We are all entitled to have our favourites and my favourite will always be Nihira.
While the show goes on, her absence is even more noticeable. The immature walk-out of contestants reminds me of her grace, the melancholy on ID's face reminds me of her accomplishments, the uncovincing arguments of HR (refering to his statment "Nihiras elimination was not unfair") reminds me of how music which knew no boundries is now bounded by the prejudicial force of a mentor.
So what is the source of comfort for people like me who miss Nihira with ever new episode? Should we rejoice in elimination of others thinking "Now there is justice"? No we could not stoop to that level. Should we stage a walk-out in our own room to express our disagreement? No that would be endorsing the wrong. So what should we do? And suddenly this Idea came to me.
I wish somebody would collect the video clipings of all her songs that she sung in this contest, along with judges remarks after each performance and post it on this forum. we can watch that CD every time we feel down and low for the wrong of the public voting that saw Nihira out of this contest. I dont have the videos but I am sure that some one must have recorded all the episodes. Although the sifymax website has most of the videos the quality is very poor. Is there anyone who can comeup with such a video? It would be a perfect way to remember Nihira.
