Heard your song buddy. Try for Indian Idol, you might go through. You need to practice some more for Saregama.

Just listened to the song.

It was not a bad start, but there are some important thing I did notice.

The notes were consistently flat. Whether one sings classical, filmi, or remix, one should hit the note properly +/- few cents. You will be able to hear how sharp/flat it is by comparing it voice of Mohammed Yunus (original singer of remix).

The ornamentation between the repitition of the verse didn't seem too evident.

But don't give up! Keep practicing and perform riyaaz. As Appa Raoji mentioned, there is a bigger need of practice to be able to participate in SRGMP.

few things i want to mention..
1. when u sing mastana..u ending it abruptly..let it go.
2. as ID says tahrav..sing as if there is lot of time left :).no hurry.
3. i observed litle nasality...

anyways , good effort..

I'd love to hear you elaborate a bit more on what you mean by "consistently flat" notes. I'm a pianist, so I can understand music, but I have never had training in traditional indian music, especially vocal. I think with a good guru I could do well, but oh well there's life to take care of :). By consistently flat are you talking the difference between B(Flat) and B#?

uselogic, thanks for your comments. I think the song would sound a bit better with better mixing - the original has professional mixing equipment with individual tracks for every instrument I'm sure. There's no way I have that kinda setup, or even the original tracks for that matter LOL :).
