A quick Q...
In the song Dhannon (Kitab), RD actually used something (he called it a gadget that he had heard in USA) to create the music.
What was that (I have the song and RDs comments but couldn't understand the words when he mentioned the "gadget")?

Puneet
this has been written by me, I plan to actually give it somewhere for publication, is it worth.......??
That gadget is called overdrive/compression gadget for lead guitar, the same effect has been used in chodo sanam kahe ka gam ...(Kudrat)
it is a typical shrill metal effect of guitar........

Even better and more popular was his brilliant harmonica passage in "Mere sapno ki raani" ...

Panchamda ... only one of his kind ... I wish there was another like him ....

Sinhaji ... please give it for publication. It would be helpful to one and all and every music lover ...

BTW, a very nice thread Sinhaji. Somehow the forum is losing it's charm and the only threads which make for pleasurable reading are your's, Abhi's, Bhakta's and few others ....

Even though he was a good bass guitarist, he sometimes became very simple when he did the bass guitar in "Preetam Aan Milo Dukhiya Jeevan Kaise Bitaun" from "Angoor." The bass hit only 1 note: Sa.... Sa... Sa.. Sa. In that song, there were sound effects of wind, cats, dogs, frogs, doors opening, ticktock, horses galloping. A gallery of sounds!

Yup !!! Panchamda used ten types of musical effects in the song actually .... Night criket, wind, whip, dogs barking, horses galloping, door opening, cat moaning, frog croaking, wolf howling and clock ticking .... Amazing to say the least !!!!
