Hemu and Debu

Friends,

At this point no matter who wins (Debu or Hemu), India is going to get a very well trained singer. Both of their voices are unique. If Hemu has bass in his voice then Debu has fluidity in his voice. If Hemu has a surround effect, then Debu has the softness in his voice. At this point lets just hope that we get an original singer and not a copycat.

well said! I believe that too. Both are very good with unique voices. Wish both could win, BUt ALAS! IF WISHES WERE HORSES; I TOO, WOULD HAVE RIDDEN THEM!

a lot of good singers won because they copied off of some one, but are now amazing singers with their own voice

Noooooooooooooooooooooo we already have Sonu Nigam and Memories of Rafi ji's. We need OG singer.

Ok i know one.... Kumar sanu sounded like Kishore kumar at first, but then he actually has his own voice.

But not when the original singer was still alive. Take for instance Kumar Sanu. He came up the very next year when Kishore Kumar expired. People missed Kishore's voice and wanted a voice similar to Kishore Kumar. There were lot of Md. Rafi copies in the 70's and early 80's, but none succeeded that well. Sonu Nigam was a copy of Md. Rafi but he had different sytle from the very begining. If you listen to his earlier songs recoreded by T-Series you could say that his voice resembles Md. Rafi but he is not a copycat.

Kishore Kumar also followed KL Saigal but never copied him. He just followed the styles of the GREATS but was never a mimic.

In case of Vineet, why would the public want to listen to him when Sonu Nigam is there.

Dazzling, Mukesh copied Saigal saab. Rafi initially copied Saigal Saab. Lata copied Noorjehan, Asha copied Geeta Dutt, Mahendra Kapoor copied Rafi, Mannada copied KC Dey. The only original singer from the start were Talat Mehmood and Hemant Kumar.

Really is it a fact? Rafi ji sounded so different from Saigal ji. Come on do you remember the oldies of saigal Jag mag jag mag diya jalo...Rafi ji to me never sounded like Saigal.

u said exactly what i'v been thinking of but couldn't put it into words. and that is that Hemu has a "surround effect" that makes his voice very unique and powerful.

my personal favorite is debu and what I find very appealing is the "rich tenderness" in his voice. he has a very soothing effect when he sings (of course a lot depends on the type of song) but then again that's my feeling when I listen to his songs and opinion vary...

bottomline is: both of them r deserving 😛
