Reading music or lyrics is not considered a negative thing .. the world over.. I dont know if you have heard Lata sing live or have seen a western classical concert.. This is not a memory contest.. but a singing contest where you need to remember the song or have a note to sing it properly..
But it does effect the song when you miss a line as you get off track ..and probably change the meaning of the song. Remember his bachna ae hasino..he got off track..

I fail to understand y some of you react so violently in these forums..and this goes out to vinitfan, madhu uptill adwarknath and arkargos..( sorry cann't spell ur ids)...its ok for someone liking vinit over hema and debu and vice versa..y there is no acceptance to the fact that everyone is not alike and the tastes differs... there are so many of us fo won't like to hear altaf raza where as there may be millions of rickshaw pullers and truck drivers in India blowing their music day and night...everybody is not into classical music and thats y its called popular...
so guys chill down and learn to accept differences and nobody can force anybody to like something..its just a personal choice...
So to cut the crap short..stop reacting so violently for somebody's preference and stop bashing around these contestants..they all have worked hard in their life ..nothing is served to them on silver platter..learn to appreciate....

RIP..

comparison with Sehwag : Tendulkar does not hold ground.

No, I didn't mean that he is a great singer. But among all singer in SRGMP (except Nihira) he has been the most consistent singer. And he is definitely better than Hema and Debu.

Bull can not think...thank God..
you did not get Deboo in top 10..

Because Deboo is too far better than Vinit and Hema..
a bull can not understand his singing...

So..this is.what you are .as a bull you only know who is wearing topi or red..

thanx tantra....appreciate it!!

@cagirl Besides wat tantra had to say, I'll say this: I think I read somewhere in a "STUDIO UPDATE" posted here that Debu perhaps asked permission to read....n that was the only time Debu did it, I guess bcuz the song he sang was a fusion of 2 songs "Na to karvan" n "ishq hai ishq"....also in previous SRGMP(not challenge 2005), contestants asked permission to read from paper from judges n hardly anyone rejected the requests!!

But missing out or mispronouncing words directly affects the song(no matter wat AS said earlier in Challenge about pronunciation)...so that does matter in the total quality of the song!!

Don't forget the famous (from that virtuoso performance by Vinit) ---- "to VINIT mera naam naheen hai... Pardah Hai Pardah..."

That should have gotten him ZERO points, for changing the words of the song deliberately

standing for elections?😉 you make good points abt there being different types of music... Not sure abt refraining from criticising contestants. they r on a public stage. if u cant take the heat get out of the kitchen.
