The list can go on and on.
She is a special talent and I hope our music directors make some great songs with her.

Hi raghav64,
I would love to hear Nihira sing some of these songs, esp. the ones in bold…
TRUE, the list of songs can go on and on…
I'm sure ID will create some wonderful composition for Nihira. Also, there are other music directors whom I have some hope from… M. M. Kreem, Shantanu Moitra, A. R. Rahman, SEL…

I'd go as far as to say even Pyaar hua chupke se that she sang a few weeks back, or Rangeela re would have done the trick (votes). It was wrong timing.

Hi biswita,
You maybe right… maybe one of her previous more "commercial" type of performances would have worked… Something like "I love you" would have been great… If she sang "Saathi Re" in the Judges Round, they would have been jumping to give her the green card… yes, wrong timing indeed…

Hi, all you Nihira admirers. Most of you have mentioned some of the sadabahar melodies. How about Tu Jahan Jahan Chalega, Mera Saya sath hoga. I can already hear her voice ringing in my ears.

Hi sangeedam,
ABSOLUTELY !!!!!!! You took the words right out of my mouth !!!!!! When I was thinking of these songs, they were vibrating in my mind… MERA SAAYA is a haunting melody…

Thanks for responding everyone!

That reason is that the media establishment thinks the americanisation of Indian culture is a good thing for us. We are Indians!! We should be proud of our culture and should not allow these attempts at brainwashing us into believing that modern American culture and all of its celebration of things degenerate, african, and lewd is the road that will lead India to National greatness. We will only fall like America is falling when it is our turn.

I think this is kind of digressing from the point of this post... Its not that I disaree with you... I think Nihira is a cultured, elegant, simple, natural person, with a great voice and talent...
What songs would you have liked to hear Nihira sing ???

WOW musicpulse...

You picked some of the rarer songs... "betaab dil ki tamanna yahi hai" is ONE of my FAVORITES... .. Only someone with great sur and sweetness in their voice could sing that song perfectly... Gosh, now I REALLY WISH I could hear Nihira sing it... Sanam tu bewafa is also an interesting number...

Some of my other favorite songs...
Baharon mera jeevan bhi sanwaro...
Hamne dekhi hai un ankhon ki mehakti khushboo...
Duniya kare sawal to hum kya jawab de
Dil jo na keh saka...
Tumhi mere mandir tumhi meri pooja...

Well, as they all, the list goes on and on...

I don't understand why she was voted out even after giving such a flawless performance. I think it was that AV "Best Dancer" that was shown on her pointing to that she is not a good dancer which made her exit from the challenge 2005

you are right nihira_fan, but I think even if the song didn't have mass appeal, anyone with a good pair of ears, can listen and appreciate how difficult that song is and the other fact that NO other singer had attempted that song before. Plus, doesn't the mentor metor supposed to gauge the public how well the contestants performed?. Is SRGMPA trying to find a good singer or performer?? That's what hurts me the most about her exit, when fantastic singers are ousted unfairly.

Hari Om.

Hi, Nihira fans!

Nihira could sing many difficult and easy songs of different genre. she is the most versatile among this group and will go far, notwithstanding her difficulties with dancing. I have not seen Lataji, Alka Yagnik, Kavita Krishnamurthy and even Shreya Ghoshal dance. Even Shreya and Kunal who were doscovered through SRGM and don't dance. They have won fans through their singing prowess alone.

May God Bless Nihira.

You know what… dancing was not important in the days of Lataji, Ashaji, Alka Yagnik, or even when Shreya Ghosal came into Bollywood. I think it's suddenly become essential after these teen idol shows like Indian Idol and Fame Gurukul. There's a whole new "breed" of entertainment has evolved in India, which is different from "playback singer"…

Saregamapa is unfortunately confused… it doesn't know what its purpose is… to find a playback singer, or a teen singing idol… herein lies the conflict !!!!!!!

Nihira fortunately has no confusion... she will make it big in the world of playback singing !!!!!!!
