Shaan Speaks about Spirituality

There are times in all our lives, when we desire the need for divine intervention; times, when life refuses to acknowledge the seemingly obvious and decides to take refuge in a world that is far away from ours. A world that gives the body and mind the spiritual healing that it yearns for.

He stepped into the music industry in the year of 1994. With his first album of 'Loveology' he won many hearts. Shantanu Mukherjee with a melodious voice has now spell bounded the entire country. Is it the blessings of God that has made him raise this high or his pure hard work. Shaan talks to Riya V Anandwala about his religious beliefs.

Relaxed believer in God!

Yes, I do believe in God. I am very different kind of believer in God. I don't really do formal puja's and havans as such. I basically don't follow rituals and traditions and also don't do regular prayings. What all I do is have a little chat with God before I go to sleep.

A little chat with Him

It is a very diverse feeling to have a word with God. I do it so that I can sleep well, I can calm my self down. I fundamentally have a conversation with him, about my day and thank him for whatever he has given me.

"Sagarika is like me"

No incident in my life has ever made me doubt or question his presence. The point is acceptance. One has to accept whatever he gives. And I guess that is the supreme power. I have never walked up to a Siddhivinayak or any other temple for that matter. It's just that I don't want to put God to death. Even my sister Sagarika is like me, we are quite similar. Its all karma, there are many cycles in one's life, so whether you call it destiny or whatever, God is there.

No guru or saint for me

I don't believe in God men. Taking the guru's and saints as the messengers of God, is not something which I will fall for. I feel that a person is much stronger when he believes in himself. One should build up a connection directly with God. And that really helps.

Satisfied Soul

Without asking, I have got everything in life, so I am a content spirit. And now if I ask for anything, I will consider myself greedy. (Laughs).
