If we look at their profile: both singers are fully trained, both are ready to invade bollywood music , both have been entertaining us since months now and both are being observed by composers all across the country..
Nihira: technically awesome :superb range control, sweet voice quality, being favourite of all mentors including AS who has given her high scores many times. Possible reasons of being laadli:her technical strength, it is difficult to find a missed sur , fully focussed about singing & has maintained wonderful consistency, this pleases composers immensely.
On the other hand she gets so involved in getting sur right that she closes eyes on & off and in this public voting era stops communicating with people, who vote & matter. Though in play back singing when recording will be done what would matter is sur, flow & expression, because people would be listening & not seeing the song. She is in league of Alkaji, Shreya.......

Himani: her voice maturity belies her age, she has a unique voice which is sought after these days and is fit for item no. though she will also fit into sufi/qawalli/mujra singing very well. She falls in the league of Sunidhi, Richa Sharma, Alisha :her other strengths: good communication & great singing style. She will do very well in live performances.
I think she should be more careful about song selection.

In my opinion it is unwise to compare them because they have totally different singing style and mode and would do well in their genres. Also their fans shouldn't forget that we already have a no. of good singers in both genres, so it is likely that they will face stiff competition.Winner can be only one: but the second would also do well..
Sorry.......if this topic is overdone......

very good comparison.............

Your comparision is a little biased towards Nihira, now that you posted the original topic.

I wish to add here.

Himani is equally flawless in her control of Surs, her voice modulation and her pitching(both high and low). While her forte is high pitched songs, she has proved her capabilities with "tere bin naiyo dolna..." (Kachche Dhage) and by her redention of "jia dhadak dhadak..." (though I havnt heard her later song).
Himani is in the moulds of Ashaji,Sunidhi and HemaSardesai.
She is equally effective when one listens to her with eyes closed(or for that matter if she sings as a playback singer) but seeing her on-stage is a bonus.

we all have preferences it is possible, that gets reflected when we are writting. Im a bigfan of Himani also.......
Thanks for reading.

I agree with Sunsha that
it is an endless discussion...
Both are very talented and deserves to Win. May again a tie can solve this issue.

both are having their own quality and which makes them unique.

My Vote is for Nihira.

I like both Himani and Nihira becasue both of them are hugely talented. But if I had to chose one over the other, it is Nihira as she has a better range than Himani and her voice quality is more soothing.

Most welcome Kaboo123,
I said earlier, she has a sweet voice which appeals to masses+all the talent she has, in my opinion she has an edge at the moment.
I don't remember of any contestent before in other SRGMPs who was so popular even when the contest is not over.
Nihira is my personal favourite as well, I can't understand why they are getting least votes.

I almost have a PhD by now comparing these two gals and agree with Sinhajee completely with the following additions:
1) Nihira has proven that she can do item #s very well (ala Sunidhi, etc) thereby encroaching into Himani land whilst Himani has yet to do the dual octave (HRHK), multitrack (Rangeela) numbers to get into Nihira territory.
2) If you really notice closely, Himani songs have the Punjabi touch and punjabi words in them as she is comfortable with those. I see her roounding her words but people do not realize that because it is punjabi.
3) Himani's stretch is limited compared to Nihira. If you hear the last line of Rangeela rey it goes on forever non stop - Himani just could not do it live.

Bottomline, Himani has a long way to go. Nihira is already in a form where a good music director can start to mold her. Bollywood bets on low risk singers and hence I predit Nihira will reach great heights and you may be lucky to hear Himani once this contest is done.
If RK were alive today, he would say this to Nihira:
Satyam, Shivam, Sundaram
I hope when this Blue Diamond wins this contest, they play RK's favorite song in the background : "Ishwar Satya hai, Satya hi Shiv hai, Shiv hi sundar hain" because it personifies Nihira.

You seem to be a huge Neela Heera fan.....
Nihira was modulating her voice par excellence at the point you want to show....I agree. It faded into the background with a relay effect.........
BTW how did you do a PhD on Nihira Vs Himani..............

The PhD comes by recording just the two of them on my PVR and listening to it over and over again. I form my opinions after a lot of hearings. At the inital onset both are good but when you start to disect your way thru ...... ah! there is a difference!!
