I was wondering about that myself. I always thought the mentors help their students pick the songs and then work on them with the students, but then there have been comments like "yeh gaana tho tumhari range me bilkul nahin thha" from mentor to student so I was like, then why would the mentors pick it if it wasn't in the range? So I don't know. Maybe the mentors used to pick the songs but now the contestants pick them?
