IS IT FAIR TO HAVE A TALENT HUNT OR COMPITITION RUN WITH PROFFESSIONALS PARTICIPATING IN IT.

NIHARA IS A GREAT SINGER 😊

SHE has already playbacked in 2-3 films, with Jatinji-Lalitji & with Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy. FOR PEOPLE WHO DON'T KNOW: SHE SANG DHARAK DHARAK WITH UDIT NARAYAN AND SUNIDHI CHAUHAN IN BUNTY AUR BUBBLI AND ANOTHER SONG IN ALBUM "CHANNA VE".

This is really not expected from a show like SA RE GA MA PA. NEXT THING WE KNOW IS SONU NIGAM IS PARTICIPATING IN THE SHOW. LOL

Instead a fair chance SHOULD BE GIVEN TO NEW TALENT.

I don't think that there is any such rule that a contestant cannot participate in a contest if they have already done some playback singing. She has some track record in singing, but she can't yet be called a professional singer.

Besides, she is not the only contestant who has assignments in hand. Debo has also done some playback singing and now since the inception of the contest many others have also started their careers in playback singing for ex. Vineet, Hemachandra, Rajiv. All of them are getting some mileage and advantage in one form or the other, hence it is not fair to single out one contestant just because she is way better than others.

Besides simply singing a couple of songs in playback form does not ensure a future in professional singing.

MR. MANAV12

ITS ONE THING TO GET SONGS WHILE COMPETING IN COMIPITITION AND ANOTHER TO COME IN WITH PLAYBACK SINGING BACKGROUND. THERE IS NO DOUBT SHE SINGS WELL. QUESTION IS: IS IT ETHICAL TO HAVE PEOPLE COMPETING WITH SOME BACKGROUND OF PRO SINGING AND HAVE THEM COMEPETE WITH LESS EXPERIANCE SINGERS.
SHOULD WE NOW SEE SADHANA SARGAM COMING IN COMPETING AGAINST HIMANI? POOR HIMANI WILL STRUGGLE INFRONT OF OUR JANTA. RIGHT?

Rishi Buddy,

Nihira was never a known name and the likes that you are comparing her with like Sadhana Sargam are very known names, hence the comparison is not apt. For that matter, Indion Idol and Fame Gurukul has had entries from ex SRGMP winners and finalists, hence in retrospect they should also be disqualified. Question is that rules have to be uniform. Debojit for ex. claims to have sung two or three playback songs prior to entering the contest but did we know him prior to this – no or for that matter what did these songs do for his career – nothing much.

Point here is that it is not how many songs you have sung or which platform u have got exposure on, but more the quality of exposure that u get through them. Somebody who does merely stage shows may be getting better mileage and exposure than someone who has sung a few songs as a playback and most probably not even the lead playback.

hmm 🤔 this topic has a point, but I tend to agree more with manav12 that till a contestant is an established professional singer, it is hard to disqualify them from entering a contest, but yes it is an interesting point. There are other exs. of contestants entering a contest with prior experience and as such no rules have been laid out.

Nihira's participation is absolutely legal. Nothing is wrong. She has done various playback singing doesnot mean that she should not participate. She had not received the fame and must be she didnot receive enough contracts from the music director. And that is the reason, to prove herself and make other music directors to consider her talent, she has participated in this competition. May be considering all this in future she may get enough contracts from the music directors and come into the limelight.

Had it been Shreaya ghoshal, sunidhi chauhan or anybody who is in limelight, participated in this competition, then it would have been unfair with other contestants. But it is not unfair in Nihira's case.May be after getting few offers, and coming into limelight, she wont participate in this type of competition.

I agree with manav12, kaboo123 and saregama that Nihira's entry is perfectly legal and there are no issues on this. Kaku your last post is not very clear - guess coz. everything is in caps.

Are u nuts....u've got be kidding pal when u restrict a singer of Nihira's calibre to be doing a two-liner in a Sunidhi dominated score in B&B & some lame chorus song in a third rate movie like 88 Antop Hill 🤢 & stating that she is already an established singer 😒....man! she is capable of so much more for crying out loud ⭐️

Her entry in the Chlng 2005 is 100% legal....no questions asked & in fact it is a blessing in disguise since she sets a certain standard in the comp which brings out the best in her fellow contestants cuz they are tempted to perform even better.
So kudos to our number uno participant Nihira 👏 ....u go girl!

May the lawyer (in Indian Law) in this group please stand up.

Are you guys gone crazy or what? Nihira has done microscopic portions of Dhanak Dhanak - hell we can get you to do it next time - it is so insignificant part of that song.

To say anything is illegal you have to be a judge to decide. Gajendra Jee did that and found her legal. To tarnish Nihira'a image for having done a minute portion of a song is down right stupid. Just because she has achieved so much in so little time people are just down right jealous of her.

Bhaskar, as an IITian, I request this topic be closed and removed from this forum as it has no basis absolutely, Your Honor !!

KAKU You have me utterly confused with your post. I don't know what point you guys are trying to make here. Nihira's entry in a contest like SRGMP is perfectly legitimate - period. Do not try and create a debate out of nothing. A singer like Nihira cannot be restricted to some paltry innane songs and classified as professional singer.

She has brought such high standards to the show that it is a treat to watch the programme courtesy her. So quit defending ur point as it has no meaning.
