I think she is one of the best contestants of any Sa Re Ga Ma Pa singing contest series.

She is in the league of Shreya Ghosal. If she doesn't win this competition, no big deal, she is way above anyone in this platform and if she does get eliminated I think it will only speed her way into playback singing.

No offense to anyone, but I STILL remember the day when A.R Rahman was the guest and Kamal Khan sang Chayya Chayya. The best thing about his performance was the opening rendition of the female vocalist (Abhilasha with 'jinke sa ho ishq ki chaaon'). Enough said.

Looking forward to hearing your film songs very soon Abhilasha!

i agree that Abhilasha is very much ready for playback singing! hope she gets a good break soon. supposedly VS will work with her according Vishal's tweets and SLB promised her a song too. hope they are true to their word! 😳

i don't agree about the Chaiya Chaiya part though. both did a fantastic job.

Vishal says a lot of things. He also said he will work with Vineet, Rahul and Sugandha. SLB will most likely keep his promise.

I do not agree. I can say this about Sniti and nobody is cut above the rest. Abhilasha is a very common voice. No X-factor. She can sing simple songs. Give her a difficult song and she will falter. In that respect Nihira nad Himani (2005 contestant) is much much better than her. 2007 contestant the winner (Vaishali) is better than Abhilasha. But None of the above I mentioned can match Sniti in voice quality. She is totally different and as per my view is better than all. Her voice is her forte. Abhilasha gasps for the breath in every song.

Hi Westwick - I am very respectful of your opinion. To each his own!

However, Abhilasha has sung very difficult songs and excelled. Watch SRGMP Marathi on youtube -- shura mi vandile, mi radhika and many other truly classical numbers- they are very difficult songs. I am not marathi, I am a punjabi girl. But a music lover:).

This SRGMP season, the Ganpati aarti, the Laa Mangeshkar song in her first performance, her audition song, even the Kaminey song , and actually most of the songs she picks, are very tough. SHE makes them sound simple. That is the beauty of a great singer, - make the audience hearing the song feel like it is an easy song. One's sur, taal, and voice needs a strong, unbreakable quality for that, and YOU have endorsed that quality about Abhilasha's singing unknowningly.

Yes, her voice might be common, but common among the bestest. Therefore by that definition, uncommon on average. Also, the thing about her that is a cut above the rest is her versatality, she can sing and has sung many different types of songs.

I like Sniti's voice, but I feel scared when she performs, I don't know if she is going to mess things up or sing well. THAT is a definition of a powerful yet "not thayyar" singer. She has a ways to go before she is "ready".

The one thing I do concede is Abhilasha's breathing, most noticeable in her "yeh haseen waadiya" performance on the A.R Rahman show. That is something that she needs to work on. Noone is impervious I guess.

She truly is an amazing singer and there is no doubt about that.she has done justice to most of the songs she sang.She is well trained in carnatic music and is pursuing in hindustani from Poona and now in Mumbai.I know she will not win but she def. will make a mark in bollywood because she has a very sweet and simple voice and that is what most people want....that is why Shreya is successful.
I do love Snitis voice and I hope she does well to.But it will take time for her to get accepted as Vishal Bhardwaj said.All the 3 girls are good and I wish finals will be between all girls for a change.

Abhilasha is nowhere near to atleast those mentioned above. Even Sugandha cant be compared with those girls. Only Sniti stands apart.

Hi Westwick, like I said before, I respect your opinion. I did think of all those girls and came away thinking Abhilasha is the best.

To be quite honest with you, I really am delighted that you like Sniti and Sughanda. I have seen that all the time (except for Vaishali's season) men are given undue attention. So I am thrilled that there are so many strong voices for females this season.
