Perhaps this was not the stage for Ranjeet, despite his talent , humility and sincerity (goodnes was I about to write dignity!!!) - he needs to be amongst peers who could challenge his range to motivate him to do better.
Despite all, it's wonderful that he showcases ghazals for the younger gen's.

Actually he got bankrupt after first episode, because he had only one well rehearsed Ghazal in his peti.

He has sung several good ghazals, but in trying something new it takes time to adopt and adapt.

you're so right! 😃 people need to give him time before judging him harshly. it takes a lot of guts to do something you're not comfortable with for the first time and that too in front of a live audience 😃

Perhaps its a matter of perception ... all said and done, he's cornered amongst filmy singers.
By cashing in on his 'riyaz' and classical base Ranjit's singing score overall has been good !! how can he be bankrupt???

Respected originator of this post,
I dont know how to say things in a round about way so I wil come to the point. I find this whole exercise of citing Ranjeet's journey and the comments you have picked up in doing so, to be a petty and below the belt exercise.
And this is not the first time a comment like this is made. There are some other posts that go to lenghts to cite words like baaja and peti and what not and generally trivialise or ridicule Ranjeet.
Fine, many people dont like him....that is fair.
There is no compulsion or tearing necessity to like him.
I am not a connossieur of music. But I enjoy music.
I am not the most patriotic Indian. But I love Indian arts and music forms like ghazals and classical sangeet that are sadly getting drowned in the cesspool of tracks that are Dil Ding Dong Ding bole or Munni Badnaam Huyi Darling Tere Liye!!
And I am not the most just and honest person. But I believe that if I have nothing constructive to say then I withhold my comments. 😳
And not make fun of a 17 year old kid who at least is not making a cheap gesture, or declaring his love life on national television, or chasing skirts, or indulding in any indecency.😳
So I dont know on what basis one can humiliate him ......continously.
Especially when I don't have the calibre of singing in front of a group of friends......leave alone in a song competition.
Fortunately all TV sets come with a remote control. 😆😆 If he is so horrifying to watch, then I am sure we can all change the channels and find some programme that suits our sensibilities.😳
Constructive criticism is great, even much needed. But to trivialise and repeatedly make fun of someone does not seem right.
At least to me.😳
Thank you.

do not worry some to comments from the members should not be taken too seriously.
They are just joking.
But yes there are many who love him and some who hate him becoz they do not like ghazals (esp the younger ones I think).
Personally I am very happy with our Ranjeet Babu, his voice has the special softness needed and suitability of voice is important for ghazals.
But like RFAK, most ghazals singers wil have to branch into other stuff too, base on what market demands.
Like Paaji and his "Tunak Tunak"😆

Thanks Summer 😊, as you mentioned will take this in the stride.
I dont like or dislike him or for that matter most of the singers. I find him genteel and a well behaved kid. He respects his art, thats all that is important.
My own singing abilities are of the strict bathroom shower variety😆😆...so I find most singers great😊
As regards your point, I agree, if he wants to cover a wider spectrum of songs then he has to branch out like a RFAK or a Talat Aziz. But I guess Ranjeet is content singing ghazals.....So let him be

Kasturi ji, Ranjeet is only 17, maybe going 18 soon.
Right from young singing was his passion and he enjoys ghazals with a happy face. Wonder how much time he sacrificed for his singing passion.
His voice is also very flexible and he controls it very well.
Hope he continues to select songs carefully as competition can only get tougher.
